Absolutely immaculate stay. The bar was fantastic, the food from the restaurant was top notch. The rooms were incredibly clean, though a bit small, but not uncommon for smaller countries and not uncomfortable at all. Huge thank you to Amber who was the concierge. She was absolutely fantastic, helpful, welcoming and I couldn't praise her enough. 100% would stay here again.
The staff are warm friendly and eager to help. The rooms are nicely presented and the breakfast very tasty. We had issues with the rooms, the first room we only spent a night in due to the noise from the bar below. We were moved to a lovely suite, however while this was a beautiful room, with a view it was very cold staff were quick to address them and it didn't spoil our stay.
We stayed in suite 8, it had a lovely huge tub, excellent a/c and heat, was beautifully decorated, American king size comfortable bed, and the bathroom was brand new with lots of lovely features like a rain shower head and a heated mirror. Complimentary breakfast was also great and there was excellent & friendly service all around. Only thing to note - if you require a fully pitch black room to sleep, bring an eye mask for room 8, there is a set of frosted windows that allow some light in at night. We didn’t mind at all and plan to be back!
I will always remember the friendly, caring service I got last night when I checked in late after being in St.Vincent’s hospital all day with my sick husband. Karl.. you have no idea what your kindness did for me! And Nick in equal measures. Old school Dublin hospitality in the most beautiful, modern, spotless comfort. Delicious breakfast of poached eggs, bacon & home made brown bread and great coffee. I look forward to returning, with my husband! So close to hospital if anyone needs a lovely bed for the night, and a friendly face. Catherine x
Very tastefully decorated and spotlessly clean. Staff very friendly and helpful. Beds, linen of really good quality. Only small quibble was that the room, no. 9 was small. But bathroom was good size.Rooms: 4/5
My mother will be 103 years old in May 2023 but for various reasons we have had cancel any celebrations planned for 2020, 2021 and 2022. To compensate we had planned a large event this year but once again it had to be cancelled so my sister decided to organise a meal at Gleesons on Booterstown Avenue. The meal was excellent and my mother more than enjoyed herself.
There were four of us all first cousins over 70yr.meeting after many years. Food very good & place was warm & comfortable. We chatted for over two & half hours & staff weren't fussing to move us on. Planning to meet again before too long. Two of us came by Dart . Station only a short walk.
Easter Sunday lunch for six and a frisky 2year old. Seated promptly, with last minute change to a better table for our group. Food was excellent. Portions were “Farmer-style” Above all else, every single member of staff we met was pleasant, helpful and smiling. We will return - would advise others to try it.
Had lunch there today. Food was nicely presented. Had the beef which was nicely cooked but felt the side portion of potato and veg was very sparse. The person with me ordered a portion of fries to compensate. At 19 euro I would have expected a more substantial amount. Desert was nice. Service was ok but there was no salt and pepper on the table when we got our meal. My daughter had to get one from another table as there was no staff to ask. Only one disabled parking space which was occupied by someone not displaying a permit. I was able to park in the space beside it which gave me a bit more space to open the door fully. This seems to be very common these days but really frustrating for people like me with disabilities that stick to the rules.
I stumbled across south Dublin's best kept secret, the glorious view from room 5 of the Gleeson Townhouse, perfectly framed by a dramatic corner window. The room was comfortable, spacious, and well-appointed and I enjoyed a quiet and comfortable night's sleep. The food was excellent, the staff friendly, professional and helpful and the ambience of the lounge was enjoyable. The wow factor on walking into the room was the icing on the cake.
