Restaurant is clean, staff friendly and the cooked food being served looked okay, but as for 'afternoon tea' this is a definite no. The tea is all bag and I sent the scone jam and cream back when I saw squirty cream. I agree with some of the other reviews on here over priced for what you get.

My mother and I stopped in for tea after an afternoon shopping in Eastgate mall. We arrived around 3:00 and the menu and smells convinced us to have a bit more than tea. My mom had the fish and chips and I had a lovely chicken sandwich with a creamy mushroom sauce on a croissant served with mixed greens. We also tried their coleslaw, which was EXCELLENT; though I generally despise wet coleslaw, it was well seasoned, the cabbage was crisp and delicious and the tart ingredients (likely dijon mustard and maybe a pinch of horseradish) really served to offset the dish as opposed to the usual American style sweet dressings. We also had tea and I ordered a small scone, which was excellent--obviously fresh made, with lovely raspberry preserves and clotted cream. I saw other reviews stating they provided squirty cream, but ours was not. They provided butter and clotted cream. My mother ordered a tart to-go and said it was also excellent. This is a lovely shop in a great location-you have a view down the back of Eastgate and it's on a hill heading up to more shopping, which we also enjoyed :) It's walking distance to Kingsmill and other downtown hotels and a great place to breakfast or have tea.

Really good food. A little on the expensive side but really good location and prompt service.

Nice inside however when they give you squitty cream as part of your scone jam and cream, you know it's not going to be good. The cakes were quite expensive considering what you got, the carrot cake was dry, had no nuts and an extremely sweet topping. I also think that my decaf was not decaf. I would stay clear of here as the service was ok but quality not good.
