What a place, need to visit again. If you get a chance try and speak to Allan the owner, what a very knowledgeable nice man he is. I took a bounty of products back to North Wales, everything I have tried so far is far better quality I have bought from anywhere else. From the smoked salmon to the smoked boiled eggs. One of Scotlands hidden gems.
Great little place alongside the A75, bring your own booze! Good menu with steaks, burgers, ribs, fish, pizza etc.
Fantastic selection of fresh fish and smoked fish, meat & dairy. Great place to stop off and stock up or for a delicious picnic
Nice location and easy access, but overall disappointing. The shop girl was young and maybe too shy to engage with customers to offer suggestions or help. Good choice of product but ended up with some ok smoked kippers £3.60 for two, hot smoked salmon £10.50 for two small fillets , some smoked Stilton and smoked bacon. Was looking forward to eating all of these but sadly can’t say was impressed. Kippers were a bit dry and rather lacking substance not much eating . Salmon OK but nothing to write home about. Cheese and bacon tasted smoked but actually brought nothing to the flavour, quite non descript compared to other smokehouse products I’ve tried.
Lovely food and shop. Sharing platter was a great way to sample the delights of the smoke house, there was a special of half a lobster in garlic butter and chips with salad we very much enjoyed our lunch. The smoked venison was really nice and pleased to be able to buy some in the shop. There are a few tables outside and sitting out in the sun was a nice touch. Tables inside also. Staff were friendly and plenty of Covid precautions being taken.
Had both the salmon and sea bream, both tasted fresh and made a perfect lunch!

Great food, great value, great service. No drinks licence so take your own alcohol.
Very good produce, and very well stocked counters. Seemed busy with customers. The cafe was also nice.
Excellent as usual .looking forward to cooking their meats
