Having seen an exhibition of the beautiful work by Helen Cartlidge i contacted the artist herself to commission a painting. Helen agreed to this, but over 6 months passed with no communication. I attempted to contact Helen many times without any success (phone, she was no longer at the address, email, completely ignored) so decided to visit the Gallery, i explained the situation but was simply told by the very unhelpful man to working there to 'buy something else'. I am appalled by the breathtaking arrogance of these 'artists' who feel that they may decide who should or should not have their work. I have spoken to many friends and colleagues, who have all agreed never to purchase from the Gallery and especially from Helen Cartlidge. Helen, your work is beautiful, your manners, i'm afraid are not.
