Stopped off with the wife for a coffee and cake. Absolutely wonderful cakes and a fantastic display of sandwiches and rolls...tempted, but we were on our way for Easter lunch! We have eaten their cakes and bread before, and they are delicious. Today we had a cinnamon bun and an almond croissant along with a Cappuccino each, as we relaxed whilst spending a little time people watching. Highly recommended.
Excellent as always. Service fantastic. The only downside is that it's so popular that it's difficult to get a seat on weekends...the sign of a very good place I guess. Never had a bad experience at Gails.
Quite simply one of the best smaller modern foodie havens Full of deliciousness, pastries and multitude of options to snack, nibble and graze on Everything there is so well presented and the quality is reflected throughout From hot drinks to iced delights, such as the newly discovered chilled chai latte Give Gail’s a go, you won’t be disappointed
I have always been a fan of Gail's breads especially since their efforts to deliver breads to NHS Staff during COVID19. But only recently did I start having coffee here and I absolutely love it. I usually avoid having coffee in chain stores and prefer artisan coffee in small independent coffee shops but, Gail's coffees is just perfect and the bite sized buns with Chickpeas and avocado are just the perfect accompaniment which I can find nowhere else! I also love their feta cheese and olive pastries but they can be quite rare to find. You can tell by the perpetual long queues outside how popular their bakery are.
I had such a wonderful experience at Gail's Balham today which compelled me to write this review. Two waitresses, Saffron and Lucia absolutely blew me away with their unmatched hospitality. They were friendly, kind, attentive and cheerful. They welcomed me into the clean, comfortable and quaint establishment with a bright smile and a "how can I help you". I ordered and just as I sat down Saffron brought my food and drink to me, beautifully displayed on a spotless tray. I would reccomend Gail's Balham for anyone looking for a relaxing and welcoming environment, fast service and delicious coffee! :
£12 for two below-average cappuccino & coffee, and one not fresh croissant, which they would not even warm up. Can’t understand the hype about Gails.
Cosy Gail's with amazing bakery and creamy coffee. I love it when I'm WFH.
Come here quiet regularly at various times and have always found the service to be efficient and polite. The bread and pastries range is very good. I have had brunch quiet a few times and can recommend the porridge with honey and blueberries aswell as the French Toast. At peak times it can be busy however the queue does move and its only to be expected for its location so close to Balham st. Parking is also pretty good where u can park for an hour in close by during weekdays or park at Sainsburys which is jist 5mins away for 2hrs for free.
Great coffee! I’d suggest sitting near the ovens so you can take in all the amazing smells without consuming any of the calories. Nice spot for a quick cuppa and a sweet treat, or equally for some lunch that is freshly baked/made.
i came in for a trial on the Saturday 1st April 2023 but did not have an interview. After 3 days I got an no email saying my interview was unsuccessful. I am very disappointed as I did not have an interview, please can someone explain the procedure to me..
