I had no idea what a hidden gem Darby’s was! Beautiful restaurant, lots of tables but also had a good amount of people there and a nice ambience. Service was friendly and attentive occasionally a little slow at the start, but that picked up as our meal went on. The food was incredibly good. Every dish we ordered was excellent, and the meat they served was top-notch! This has to be one of the best steaks I’ve had for awhile. I went for the sirloin which was delicious, and my friend went for the rib which also looked incredible! We ordered the crispy potatoes, broccoli and peppercorn sauce on the side. All of them were cooked to perfection! The crispy potatoes were a favourite of mine. If you like your steak, you must give this place a try!
Darby’s restaurant is in a nice location, overlooking the American Embassy. We had drinks on the terrace and the staff made us feel very welcome. However the experience after moving inside for dinner went by the waist side!! Or shall I say lack of! The food was nicely prepared but nothing outstanding.
GLORIOUS! We visited here for Sunday lunch and it was STUNNING! We started with cocktails all delightful and then sampled a few bites the beef nuggets were great. We then moved on to the roast beef and it was phenomenal. Definitely the best roast I've ever had. The beef was cooked to perfection, the beef fat potatoes were heaven and the beetroot horseradish topped it all off. The wines were mediocre, but the food more than made up for it. The desserts were equally as delightful as the mains - the creme brulee was the star of the show. To top it all off, they're dog friendly and have fabulous live music! Will be recommending this place to everyone. 10/10 - fantastic chefs. Thank you!
We enjoyed the beef cubes and also had the Cornish crab. We ordered the pate de champagne which was well done. For the main course we had the pollock and the mackerel. Unfortunately the mackerel was too salty and I would give it a miss. Overall the place has good vibes and is in a nice neighbourhood.
glad to find a place that serves reasonably priced oysters with good pairings in a nice ambience. the oysters were a bit smaller than I would have liked but still fresh and good. friendly staff and nice bubbles too.
Great value of the oysters happy hour! didnt expect the quality of £1 of oyster would be this fantastic, love the combination with Guinness as well. Will definitely return to try their other dishes
We really enjoyed the food, and it was presented very nicely. The service provided was 5-stars, the staff go out of the way to make it a good experience for everyone. Only complaint would be some shells in the oysters but everything else made up for it. We will be back for sure!
Loved this restaurant! The setting is gorgeous my photos don't do it justice and the food is really good. Staff are extremely friendly and knowledgeable about the dishes and wines. We will definitely return.
I really like the food and the environment here! Recommend their first dish! Every dish is amazing! I especially recommend their beef fat potatoes, Cornish crab brioche roll, baby gem & pickles, Carlingford oyster, Truffled Baron Bigod, fig and walnut toast. However, I personally did not like the steak very much.
My first time trying Oysters and they were divine! The sourdough and the potatoes lived up to the hype. Great toilets too.
