Me and my fiance dined here recently while spending time in Sunderland. We loved it so much, we went back a second time in less than a week. The pizza, garlic bread, and Tagliatelle Carbonara were amazing! The portions were generous. It has a cozy atmosphere with very friendly staff, with attention to detail we were never thirsty waiting for a drink. Now that we're home, we often talk about how we wish we could just walk down the road to dine there again... We may have become a little obsessed with this place! My fiance just read what I've written and said "Just say it was heaven! Simple".
Beautiful food, friendly staff & service.
Without doubt one of the most enjoyable restaurant my wife and I bave been to. Having eaten all over Europe, Gabriel's is up in the top few. The staff are very friendly, attentive, and welcoming. The food first rate, and not over priced. We could mix and match with the menu to suit what we wanted. No problem! Went 4 nights in a row it is so good. We only come to Sunderland twice a year, but will make a beeline to Gabriel's next April. We're glad we don't live here because we would soon be very large people as we would probably eat here every day. It really is that good, so maybe twice a year is enough. Also the vibe, and chatter is most enjoyable. Give it a go. 10 out 10
Good safety measures in place for the current climate. Lovely venue, warm and friendly atmosphere. Staff were great and couldn't do enough to help. Food was served in good time and was excellent in quality and potion size. Great value for money. Recommended to us by friends who are local and this won't disappoint. New photos are from a more recent visit and this place still doesn't disappoint.
Excellent restaurant. I visit at least once every time I visit Sunderland. The food and choice is superb, authentically Italian, and several levels above most Italian restaurants. Great range of food and drink, love the moretti siciliana. Staff are friendly and welcoming, Booking ahead is recommended, missing out on a great experience definitely not recommend. A must visit.
Nice evening, but the steak was really disappointing, hence the rating. That said we've been before and it has been all round amazing, not that we go the steak before thoughFood: 2/5

Great food and experience. Went with wife and 91 year old Mother in law. Staff great and deserved their tip. Parking: Various street parking but its a very busy area. I think it's free after 6pm but we have blue badge so I dropped off mother at restaurant and parked in bays for disabled at nearby Old tram shelter. Wheelchair accessibility: It's only a small restaurant but staff will do their best to help. Anything bigger than a standard would be problematic unless dining outside under cover on paved 'no smoking' area.
