Fantastic views of the aircraft from a private field . they quite literaly fly over your head in many instances and i actualy saw the pilots in some crafts . You dont get to walk around the static planes but then you have to take into account that its costing only £20 per car not per person . fairford is almost £50 per person . You can also pitch a small tent or gazebo in front of your car so if it rains you can sit in the car or tent . you cant do this at fairford . your stuck in the rain and dont forget that you have to haul all you picnic and chairs with you . My advice is get there way before the gate opens but you wont be dissapointed with the view . its simply the best you will get outside the main airfield because of the close proximity of the aircraft . Furzy Hill House is on the edge of the field and all the pilots use it as a marker to turn and bank their planes . Another advantage is because your permanently pitched next to people you strike up conversations with them . I have been to fairford many times but this weekend july 2019 is my second time i have been to Furzy Hill and wont be the last . Its great for kids as well because they cant wander off to far . if they do play up and get bored like kids do . you can always volunteer them for target practice and that usualy shuts them up. My only single critisismn is that theres only room for one food seller who was massively expensive . i think £2 for a cup of tea is OTT and a large sausage roll was £3.50 so take your own food and you will have a great day
Furzey Hill Farm is a fantastic spot, Celia and her family do an amazing job at hosting thousands over the Royal International Air Tattoo weekend. I've been visiting for over 5 years now, normally in the park and view area. Which boasts one of the best areas to view the flying displays over the weekend - at a fraction of the price of buying an official RIAT ticket. This year we decided to arrive in the evening and take the option to camp for a night and watch the flying the following day. Although this isn't a 'campsite' there are water supplies and toilets on site. There is also a caterer on site over the weekend and also an ice cream van. This is a lovely quiet spot in the Cotswolds! Celia does all she can to help and I highly recommend a visit. If you've never been to a airshow, expect incredible loud Jets and thrilling displays. Plus in addition to all of this all the profits for the weekend are donated to a worthy charity, so you can watch and support something that changes lives in East Africa.
Beautiful place. Lovely people. They run the project which supports African girls stay in education instead of having to get married at very young ages. Well worth supporting.
Good place to spot aircraft from. Good local amenities. Great value too.
Been coming here for years.. fantastic viewing point..
