We went for a 60th Surprise Birthday Party. There was a seperate room and a 2 man band and dj set up. The service was impeccable! Great bar service and tables were cleared regularly. The pulled pork sandwiches and roasties were . This place has a clear friendly setup with the locals and are very welcoming to folks visiting the village! Thank you.
Came for a Sunday carvery, all food fresh great portions of meat, plenty of vegetables & sticky toffee pudding was to die for nnChildren under 5 eat free with a paying adult,nnWould definitely come back!
The Sunday carvery was excellent from start to finish. I chose the roasted pork loin and it was cooked perfectly with tender slices and a crisp crackling. The roast potatoes were golden on the outside and soft inside, the cauliflower cheese was rich and creamy, and the greens were fresh and full of flavour. The Yorkshire pudding was huge and just right with plenty of gravy to bring everything together.nnThe atmosphere was warm and welcoming, the service friendly, and the portions generous. It felt like a proper home-cooked Sunday roast made with care. Great value for money and a place I will be coming back to again.
Come over from wigan on a regular basis and this is the pub I aim for. Can't fault it. The staff are brilliant as are the locals. It's a very friendly pub with regular entertainment, artists, quizzes, bingo, sky sports etc. Super friendly. They have all made me feel very welcome and wouldn't go anywhere else.
We have just been today at 3.30 the food was cold three tables all complainednMy friend got the last Yorkshire pudding the ones he got out was glad cold heather chief answer was that’s has good has it getsnThere was no cabbage all what was left all dry two carrots and parsnip left so we had choice of peas cauliflower cheese roast potatoes and mash which was all coldnMeatballs was warm and the graveynWe had traveled and was starving but not good eating cold food.nWe complained to the staff like the other two tables no apologynWe have eaten before and always been excellentnWe paid our full bill on the way out all the staff was helping themselves to the food into boxes we could see the steam off the foodnSo disappointing today and all tables said the same been before and loved it but today deffnTerrible
