Just been to fox and hounds for dinner with my husband and mum. I have to admit it wasn't my first choice as I had heard so many negative views about the place. Based on my meal tonight though, I have no negative comments to make. I had whitebait and steak and my steak was cooked to perfection. My mum had scampi and husband had Thai red curry with prawns. The whole meal was lovely. Service very efficient. Would we go there again. Absolutely.

We've been coming to this country pub off and on for a number of years. The food has always been good. Now under new management and a new chef the food is better than ever. Delicious tender cooked steak and Oxford blue cheese pie, kale and mash and gravy mmmmn! At £14.50 it may seem expensive, but I couldn't eat it all nor anything else for dessert (as much as I would have liked to). This pub has always specialised in steaks, so if that's your thing this is the place for you! Highly recommended.

Very disappointing! We had a table booked for 6.15, we arrived a few minutes early and stood waiting inside. 3 members of staff walked past us and ignored us, even standing in front of us having a chat. We went to the bar and were told we could be seated or get a drink at the bar, we said we'd get a drink at the bar, at which point they tried to seat us. *High point of the evening two of us had pomegranate and strawberry cider which was really nice! After we got the drinks we went through and were seated at 6.20 and were given menus. No one came to take our order for 20 minutes. So after another long wait our meal finally arrived at 7.35, a full 1 1/4 hours after we had been seated. The food was ok, the atmosphere was clean and cosy, but customer service was awful. No explanation or apology for the time it took to get our meal, don't think we will return!

Poor standard of food and presentation...staff need training. This was on a Bank holiday lunch. Very few people in the restaurant so no excuse

We have been dog sitting for relatives between Christmas and New Year and have eaten at the pub twice, had a takeaway fish supper and had various drinking stops. Staff have always been fantastic and food is great pub grub. The atmosphere is great. Well done all the staff.
