The shoes has been my local for 10 years+ and had lots of different landlords over the years but the pub has always been welcoming and the beer always good. The current landlords always look after the beer and the Hot Dogs are 1st class!!! I take my 9 year old son and my dog and always made to feel very welcome and i will continue to support my local

I have never felt more unwelcome when stepping into a pub. Surly barmaid and all the customers stopped and stared at us, them began whispering to themselves (not so quietly) about us. Barmaid looked like she was chewing a wasp and was so bitter!! I'm new to the area and had family visiting me, so we were not a loud group at all. Just seems they only like locals. We stayed for one drink and left asap. Will NOT be going back again. Found a much more welcoming pub just a little further down the road.

First time we came in, was lovely atmosphere.. barman very friendly, now become our local drinking place after being barred for no reason at the pub just over the bridge.

Rude staff. Terrible experience. I came here to play poker a while back. When I tried to return a second time the next week I was refused a place when I got here, even after signing up well in advance on their Facebook page and before it was even half full. The owner was rude, arrogant and didn't even apologize. I was ditched instead for someone else who signed up way after me who they wanted to play instead of me. In addition, the owner was very rude about his dog, be careful when even thinking of stroking it. Not much can be said for the over priced and stale food and drink either. So this is a 1 star from me. P.S - I managed to find a much better place to play poker at a more local pub. :) Also, be careful when trusting those 5* reviews. Reviews by their friends and family don't really count and are heavily biased.
