Lots of inside options, from clothes and food, and AMAZING MAMBO JAMBO DONUTS DESSERTS! The guardians are everywhere and take care of having a pleasant family day. Every day of the week is open and the parking is free and unlimited.
First visit to this shopping centre, plenty of parking. It would be helpful to have a large wall map to help find particular stores at entrance. Not many seating areas for resting. Plenty of different stores to browse and eating places for snacks. Nice bright, clean shopping area.
It's getting better. In comparison to other shopping centres it doesn't seem to have as many empty units. Good to see space used in the middle of the walkway to accommodate other traders. Hundreds of parking. Massive range of shops including Asda, River Island, JD Sports. Food Court, cinema and McDonald's within close proximity. Rivals Silverburn and my preferred option to the Fort as its under cover.
Hei I went to the "officers club" shop today in the forge centre. The staff there was extremely rude and disrespectful and disgusting. It was two staff member there a lady with piercing and a young blonde guy. It was offers going there when i went to till to buy, the lady with piercing tried too overcharge, when I told her that you are overcharging she was rude and said when I scanned, the amount came like that. one of her colleague told her the price front of me still she tried to overcharge. She didn't bother to apologise. She was stiff and extremely rude. I was with my mother sister and my niece they came from Norway to visit me. When we paid and went out of the shop the same colleaguethe young guy came after uss and told uss that the payment has not been through . He said the system is saying the card is not accepted and we don't accept the "sparebank" When I went to my bank account the payment was made it was not even pending but it went through already . He said I will refund you just came back to the shop. When I went back to the shop they started to look into their pc system.they said in the system no payment has been made because they don't accept the "sparebank" card. I showed them my online bank payments but still they was arguing. I am 40years old, in my whole life I have never experienced this kind of disgusting staff how can they refuse to refund or don't let the costumer keep the stuff they have bought from their own money. At that point I started to get upset and I told her I don't care about your system on my bank account it's saying its paid. Payment has been paid to this shop. and it's not even pending it's paid. The lady with piercing started to get rude with me and started to shout and said I don't care about your bank statements I will go with my system in my shop. Her colleague then called the manager and the manager guided him and made him through the system. She didn't gave uss fully receipt where you scan the bar.The payment was on their system all the time. They had received the payment. The manager guided him. He then printed the receipt with bar code. After all this the least a costumer want is an apology. Forget about the apologies when we was going out of the shop the only thing I told her was to be more respectful to the costumer she started to shout and told me to get out from the shop and never come back. My niece is 9years old she is still traumatised. She and her colleague Then started to abuse and put the middle finger. They told uss to get out from the shop. I have my concern for the manager who own the shop. There was no costumer there. the shop was dead no wonder why nobody wants to buy from a shop where costumers are treated like trash. The staff who not need training for only costumer service but also how to keep the shop. She knew nothing in the shop she didn't knew how to enter the offers in the system. It took her 20mins too enter the codes for the offers with the help of her other colleague which was shouting from the other corner of the shop, what code she needs to enter. Imagine how annoying it is for the costumer. She didn't give uss fully receipt. The receipt paper was empty. She knew nothing. The manager need new staff if he want to keep his shop and loyal costumer. No way will this manager get costumer when the staff is no loyal and serious.. I told them too give me number where I can contact the manager they gave me no number or email. I don't wanted too keep the stuff I wanted refund but They refused to return the items as well because it was against their policy so no way they wanted to satisfy their customers. I took my bag and came out from the shop. I will be more then happy too give all the stuff to charity then keep them for my own use. I am dentist and I never let any of my costumer go without they being 99% setisfied I can't imagine how a small shop like this can treat their costumers like this. My family came from Norway and they kept asking me if this is how Scottish people treat foreign. Extremely disgrace.
Nice to place to visit for a walk around some shops and places to eat inside also, defiworth a wee visit!
We read that this is the biggest indoor market in Scotland but that is misleading. It could be the biggest by building size but in reality at least half the shops were empty and of those that are there, they are often the same shop duplicated so the variety is not there either. Prices are certainly not bargains but about the same as other markets. But we didn’t find many selling the things we expected to find in a market, especially of food. There are cafes but no butchers, no fresh fruit and veg, no fishmongers, etc. If you live locally and just want clothes or artificial flowers then you’re well-served. There are a couple of shops for specific people like disability scooters and so on.
I love to call this my all in 1 shopping center. From eatries, optician centre, passport photograph shop, down to pharmacy, cinema, clothing and beauty stores. The shopping experience is quite unique.
Its ok, a bit run down, but good shops & plenty of places to eat, definitely worth a wee day oot.
Nice to see lots of small businesses. Very pleasant seating area on the first floor near the toilets. Very clean and busy the day I visited. Lovely atmosphere.
If you want to treat yourself, go to the Forge Shopping Centre. It has a variety of shops, making it a great place to walk around. Plus, parking is free for two hours and there’s plenty of space.
