Very friendly staff, nice place for lunch with family and friends. Great service. Children's menu very good. Dogs are welcome. Quite when we visited but still a nice atmosphere. Commonwealth games on the tele, board games and books also available.
Went to the george for an anniversary date with my boyfriend.wen we went in we were immediately seen to by the staff with amazing customer service. Loved the atmosphere and the food was absolutely delicious! Hope to go again some time soon.
Popped in for lunch while on holiday as it's a dog friendly pub. Really friendly barman, very attentive and helpful. Had a nice meal, and the dog enjoyed his biscuits and a few sneaky chips!. Thanks for a nice chilled afternoon. Reasonably priced, would recommend!
A great atmosphere more like a club on a Friday and Saturday with a DJ. Lots of dancing and games. Fabulous place to have fun. Nicer atmosphere than your typical pub/club. Friendly staff. Great music and chilled atmosphere during the week so isn’t silence and awkwardness
Lovely Mothers Day lunch today at The George, Petersfield. A warm reception and friendly, timely, service despite being one of the busiest days of the year. Dog friendly too. The food was delicious and whilst one or two options were no longer available we were the last lunch sitting, alternatives were offered. The portion sizes were not overwhelming which was good for the lighter eaters in our party but unlimited top ups of certain items were available for anyone wanting more. The overall ambience was very pleasant and to round off a lovely experience, the Mothers were given small gifts to take away. There was even a treat for the dog! All in all, very enjoyable and excellent value for money. Will be eating there more.
Having worked as a barman myself I appreciate the extra effort it takes to deliver premium service whilst managing a busy bar and solving problems. James' customer service and conscientious demeanour was surpassed only by his selfless desire to make sure we were catered for in every way possible
An unfortunately average pub meal. The roast beef in particular was tough and on the dry side. The Yorkshire pudding was flat, stodgy and only slightly crisp. The pie wasn’t anything special. Tasted like something you’d get from the supermarket and bake at home. Overall not a bad experience but won’t be planning to go back.
Amazing how much new management can change a business. A new fresh lease of life has made this traditional pub the perfect place for me to take the dog for a pint after a walk!!
The new management and the team have really turned this place around. It was delightful to be welcomed so warmly and our sunday lunch was delicious. Safe to say it is now our go to for a pint or bite to eat.
Amazing place amazing people, Millie and macy are top draw, I popped in for a pint of Camden and it was Lovely, new manager has really sorted things out, Darren was a cool guy also
