Quaint little village, with a lovely church and pond. Great access to the Queen Elizabeth County Park. The Five Bells pub has just recently reopened under new management. What a lovely welcoming pub. Such a great atmosphere, with lots of old original features. We took family to have a Mother's day lunch and were not disappointed. The customer service was extremely attentive and friendly, as were the new owners, Les and Tanya. The Sunday lunch menu was great with lots of meat choices and vegetarian options. The food arived and was delicious and a very good size. The desert menu had a good selection too. Overall a very nice experience and we shall return for another meal to try from their weekly day and evening menu. Thank you Nearby activities: Perfect location to explore Petersfield Portsmouth and the countryside
Under new management, and what a transformation. Now a clean smart proper country pub. The food is lovely and the chef obviously takes pride in his work. A couple of self contained small cottages available for rent if you're lucky as they seem to book up quickly. A fair selection of ales and beers in a nice calming dog friendly environment :-
We had a lovely lunch here, staff were all very warm and welcoming and the food was tasty and good value.Service: 5/5
Stayed here with family. Pub under new management, very accommodating and thoughtful. Would recommend.Rooms: 5/5
Uncertain from outside whether it's open or not. Nice open fire but still cold. Very expensive, 4 drinks £20!! Nearby activities: Nice walks around immediate area but be prepared for hills.
Visited today for the first time. Always a bit reluctant to have a roast out as it’s never as nice as indoors but this was delicious. I had the lamb and hubby had the pork, it was all faultless and the staff are just delightful. So nice to visit somewhere and feel like you really want to go back.
Walked South Downs Way from Exton to Buriton - 14 miles. Dropped down to the Five Bells for drinks and sandwiches. Les an absolute gentleman. Actually dropped us at Petersfield train station due to unreliable taxis. Up the Super Cally! Thank you, Les x From Walts and Murphy.Service: 5/5
We've dined at the Five Bells on more than one occaison & found that the service received is much to be desired, the food has gone down in quality & also that the company's policy of NO CHILDREN is actually against the Discrimination Act, especially if they're with adults.
This is a lovely pub to visit, staff were amazing and really friendly, I had a decaff coffee and I was pleasantly surprised when it came out in a lovely large cup and tasted great. Quite often I visit pubs and they bring out a small cup not even 2 mouth fulls and they charge £3.50. This deliciously large coffee only cost £2.50. We are definitely going back for Sunday lunch, as the prices are very reasonable. Will update on that a.s.a.p.
Midweek, early evening meal of cod mornay, chips and vegetables, delicious! As was the beer. Friendly, efficient service. Good value. Fantastic village pub with a strong local following and great atmosphere. Dog friendly. Highly recommended for humans too!
