I just don't understand why I can't get the medication that I need put on repeat prescription! How many more phone calls do I need to make? How many more months do I need to wait? Who do I need to talk to to get a simple medication that makes such a big difference to the quality of my life?
Receptionist refused to make an appointment for me to see my gp because she had not heard of my issue before. In what world are receptionists being given the power to make choices as to whether patients ailments are worthy of a drs visit? I should not have to tell a receptionist my personal medical information. Reviews for the surgery corroborate that this is not an isolated incident and most reviews are negatively based around the reception staff.
Nurses very pleasant to deal with. Some of the Receptionists very unhelpful and now they won’t even let you know any test results without numerous visits making requests which they forget to past on resulting in more stress & visits & then have the nerve to charge you £1 for the information.
Friendly, helpful staff, and have never had trouble getting the help I need. The best practice I've been to.
New to the health centre from moving to the area. Staff were friendly and helpful towards registering and having our prescriptions checked and delivered to a suitable location either next door to the pharmacy or to boots. Few parking spots outside then further parking around the back. Ramp for wheelchairs and pushchairs. Toilet inside 10-15 minute wait average waiting time
Not impressed at the systems in place or with the way the support staff speak to patients. My much-needed appointment with the doctor was cancelled by phone when I had already turned up at the surgery! The doctor I was meant to see was ill, which is understandable, but my appointment was at 9.20 and I got the phone call at 9.15 - surely the staff could have called me the minute the surgery had opened, and therefore saved me the 15-minute journey? Also, even though I was there, the emergency doctor wouldn't see me because I'd had a phone consultation with the doctor who was absent. Now I have another four days of worry before my new appointment. Another shocking incident was a lady turned up at the door with a urine sample - she tried to hand it in as privately as possible but the receptionist asked her loudly, in front of the whole queue of patients who were waiting to be called in, why she was leaving it. Total disrespect for that poor lady. How can this treatment be acceptable?
so glad that someone is listening to my worries of hypothyroidism. my life is hair falling out.dry skin peeling.depression.cant sleep, awake till 4am.cant wake up.soo tired. toes nails crumbling .can't loose weight. After 2 yrs im heard thankyoux
I was shocked reading some of the reviews. I haven't been to a Dr surgery that is so helpful. All the staff are polite and In my experience will go above and beyond for you.
Absolutely disgusted with the way the reception staff treat their patients, my mum can barely walk and has had a xray to see what's going on with her knee, she called to get an appointment as she's in agony and wants the xray results, to be told your results are back but it's not an emergency so next appointment is 10th of June!! How can a receptionist diagnose if its an emergency or not? There is no compassion to what a patient is suffering, so glad I dont belong to this surgery anymore!
What a joke. They couldn't organise a piss up in a brewery. Shame on the 2 surgeries merging. Noticed fishguard surgery put it's patients first. The new Goodwick patients who have joined with fishguard are prioritised last. 09th April had a review. Computer booked me in. 2 hours later found out they skipped me and according to receptionist I didn't have a appointment. In the end I was right. She was wrong and had to wait another half hour. Got a apology. Update: 10th April. Got a emergency appointment. 20 mins later than scheduled. Doctor very nice and very efficient. Diagnosed with a whole slipped disc. Computer acknowledged I was there this time. After 15 mins past my due appointment I wandered to reception just to confirm whether I'd been booked in. The receptionist I dealt with was RUDE towards me for enquiring if machine had booked me in. I except that the 2 surgeries merging had to happen. I except the the teething troubles. May be the surgery will improve and have its creases ironed out. Both doctors and receptionist work hard. Let's hope that it does improve and become the best it can.
