This is a working pier strewn with the detritus of working boats, so mind how you go. Oh, and don't let your dog off the lead to wander - it will come back smelling of fish oil and requiring a thorough wash :-) The fish & chip van is open until mid-evening and keep your eye out for the specials if you fancy something a wee bit different to haddock and chips.

I had haddock & chips, cheerfully served. It was excellent, with crisp batter and perfect chips. I sat on the steps of the clocktower to eat it - lovely on a sunny day, with the harbour to look at, but it wouldn't be so good on a rainy day as there doesn't seem to be anywhere to eat your meal under cover. There were seagulls walking around looking hopeful, but not aggressively stealing chips as they do in some places. The menu here includes scampi, calamari, scallops and haggis.

Best fish and chips ever! Good even under the rain! Don't miss it

Poor. Frozen chips and a cheap generic black pudding in a place where beautifully locally produced black pudding is available. Try elsewhere.
