Bit rain doesn't spoil the day nice place to visit
They claim they are open until 6.30 p.m on a Friday night. I have called since 1.30 today, no answer. This is not the first time it has happened.
We have had the very best of care, for our cat Lucy, at first vets Low Fell, and continue to do so. The staff are very attentive & caring. Rachael, one of the vets there, is second to none. I wouldn't go anywhere else!
I went in for my puppys first ever consultation with a list of questions expecting a good conversation surrounding what I am doing right, what I am doing wrong, best next steps etc. The first thing the vet Rachel noticed was a bit of dandruff and dry skin on the rump, which the puppy had when we got her. Immediately she jumped on the diet as the cause. I raw feed and I don't expect everyone to agree with it, especially a vet, but I had done my research. Puppies are susceptible to dry skin on the rump due to underactive sebaceous glands, meaning they don't produce the oils as efficiently as normal until they hit around 4 months old. She said this was rubbish and it was definitely the food. I didn't change the diet, and at around 4-5 months old, the dry skin cleared up by itself...as I expected it too. The raw feeding wasn't decided on lightly. I picked a company that seemed to have the best reputation, discussed with the owner of the company herself and made a gut decision based on trust. She has been feeding to her own dogs for decades and currently has a 19 year old Jack Russel. Goes to show... The whole time I was there I felt vilified, unsupported and discouraged. I didn't have the chance to ask the questions I wanted to because I was being berated for my decision and was rushed out the door. I think she thought I was some kind of vegan, hippie, conspiracy theorist nut job by the way she went on at me. This was on one of the last appoinments of the day. I called in the following day to ask to speak to Rachel again to find she had gone on holiday, so i can only assume this is why she wanted me out of the door so quickly.....she was already in holiday mode. Not a happy customer at all. I went in expecting a great experience and left with more questions than I went in with. That and she has left some stupid and exaggerated remarks on the dogs medical history, which spurred me on to write this review. Unsurprisinly, I have moved to another vet who have supported and guided me the way I wanted to be for first-time puppy ownership.
Nice of them to permantly close and not inform any if it's loyal customers
Rachel and her team are fantastic, I have an old dog and the care and attention that they give is first class. Loving, patient and always respects the cost so I never have to pay for treatment unnecessarily
Brilliant, very, accommodating helpful staff. Rachel, the resident vet, is as caring, knowledgeable, and helpful as any I've ever come across. Would recommend to anyone in the Gateshead are without any hesitation.
Took my dog here last year as there was a lump on her chest. The vet didn't seem concerned with it and didn't give it a second glance we assumed that the lump wasn't an issue but did suggest that our dog had arthritis in her back legs so a blood test was done and tablets prescribed. The lump continued to grow up to the point we took her to another vet only to find out it was a tumor. It has now been removed and fingers crossed it has been caught in time. I'm just wondering if things would have been different if the vet her had took it a bit more seriously and examined it.
Fab vets wouldn’t go anywhere else. Rachel is brilliant vet. Also the reception staff are fab. Have been coming here for years. The care and treatment our beloved pets get is much better than most vets. Can’t recommend enough
