Firstvets has four practices throughout Newcastle upon Tyne, with our Heaton branch on Chillingham Road being our main practice. All of our surgeries offer veterinary care but have varying opening hours (see details below). Please note consultations are by appointment only.

I go to the heaton branch with my two cats for nearly three years now. All the staff are so lovely and there really good at getting Loki seen too quickly when he flares up. The receptionists are so polite also and really helpful. Prices are reasonable and I trust them with my pets. Recommend definitely!
Fantastic vets with great staff. The vet nurses are especially lovely and I always feel like my guinea pigs are well looked after when I drop them off. Reasonably priced and great treatment. Wouldn't go to any other vet than FirstVets any branch.
My 11 year old dog had an operation to remove a large fatty lump at first vets Heaton and this was followed by 3 follow up visits. On every occasion we were both treated with great friendliness, concern and prompt, efficient service. We were seen on time and the 2 nurses were lovely with my nervous dog, instantly putting her at ease. The vet, Andy, was really good and phoned me after the op to explain all was well. He even popped in to see her on one of my return visits. The receptionists were very pleasant and helpful. All in all a 5 star review is well deserved.
Great service 1st visit there since Low Fell branch closed only a 15min drive there. Lovely vet on her 1st day working there very friendly and welcoming as all the staff were. 10/10
The staff are brilliant, my little daschund had her teeth cleaned, she is very timid and was terrified, they were so lovely with her.. The aftercare is amazing, such kind caring people.. Coco will deffinatly be back for dental checks... A big thanyou to you all x
Do Not use this vets very unprofessional two vets at the same practice given two different information a difference of 6 hundred and 10 Pounds spoke to manager sent emails with no reply wouldn't recommend
Unprofessional manager at this practice and rude receptionist at the Billy Mill branch. I will not be returning to either. I'm sure I'm not the only customer that has been lost due to these people.
VERY bad experience at this vets. Completely broke the law - Unhelpful, accusatory and straight up rude. "Head Vet" Sarah took a phonecall while I was still talking to her at the desk. Does not listen to concerns - completely all about profit. AVOID!!
I called twice for my guinea to be seen as he had blood in his urine and I suspected an UTI. Been told they might squeeze me in then asked if I was registered with them: it was the first time I needed a vet so I said no and straight away I had the "Oh, the vets are very busy at the moment you know so you might want to try and ring other vets in the area!". I understand if people registered with them have priority but it sounds like they didn't even tried to help!
Compassionate caring and very dignified in our dog having to be put to rest
