There are not loads of spaces to park, so on a busy weekend the car park can fill up quickly. There are no amenities. There than a map which shows some of the nice woodland walks. One of which has a sculpture trail which may make the walk more enjoyable for young children. Some of the trails are marked out clearly, others are in the process of being marked so you may want to take a map or have a walking app if you want to follow a set route.
Great park and sculpture trail. Unfortunately there was a lot of litter including dog poop bags and the parking was a little tight. I did enjoy the bear sculpture where it looked like the baby bear ran into the wrong bit of the daddy bear for a cuddle
Had a wonderful walk through the sculpture trail with our grandaughter today. We had the best time. the only sad thing was the number of full dog poo bags on the trail and some dog poo that hadn't been picked up by the dog owners. Beautiful location with different trails for walking abilities
Lovely place to visit in all seasons. I visit regularly to walk my dog and let him run free through the broadleaf tree woodlands. There are a few wood sculptures to admire too.
It's a free car park with quick access to the popular forest walks, sometimes you have to get creative with finding a parking space but generally speaking you can normally find somewhere to park, and the surface is pretty level so isn't too jarring for your car.
Nice short walk, about 1 mile. Non muddy paths. Turn right for tree carvings and view across valley/fields. 3 Bears caves is interesting, old mine entrances. Also hidden gorge off path but becareful, steep drops.
Beautiful walk through the trees, fun sculptures and dens for the children to explore. Good for walking and cycling, some breathtaking views. Only snag is the lack of toilet facilities.
Nice circular walk to Castell Coch, steep in places. There's also a sculpture trail and a visit to the three bears caves.
Exllent woodland to walk only. Just above Castle Coch via the pane that runs in front of the castle. There's free parking, but it can get busy. It's a very mature woodland with access for decent prams with big tyres. A very good spot for walking dogs with wide paths for the most. Seems decent for biking also with inclines and fast wide swoops. There are some nice wood sculptures dotted around, especially at the front and along the main sculpture trail. There are no amenities around. But there is a pub near by in Tongwynlais The only issue I have and it's similar in other places these days is the folk that pick their dog poo up and throw it into the bushes and trees whilst in the bag. Why bother. Just throw the poo on its own if your going to do that. Much better than cheap mom biodegradable bags hanging off tree limbs like Christmas baubles. Apart from that. A great place
A lovely place to take a family with young children on the sculpture trail, with lovely views as well. Additionally, it is great for dog walkers. The only issue if you are walking your dog, is the lack of bins to dispose of your dogs waste.
