Ferens Art Gallery in Hull city centre is a must-see for art lovers! The collection is diverse and impressive, with works by both local and international artists. The gallery is well-maintained and the staff is friendly and knowledgeable. I particularly enjoyed the temporary exhibitions, which are always thought-provoking and well-curated. I also appreciated the free admission, which makes it accessible to everyone. Overall, a fantastic cultural experience in the heart of Hull. Highly recommend visiting!
2/7/22 Primarily came to see the Lego exhibition here, which was mind blowing. Also explored the rest of the gallery. It’s not a large gallery with only 12 rooms and a central hall but nevertheless has some beautiful pieces of art dating from the Renaissance period to the present day. The building itself is also a nice building dating from the 20s and feels as if you are in a building in New York from that period. There is also a shop and cafe but unfortunately on my visit the cafe service was a bit dodgy but the food was good.
Short but sweet. A nice variety of art in a beautiful building, without feeling overwhelming with gallery after gallery after gallery. The lego exhibition was a nice touch with some interactive works that could be fun for the kids. If I ever find myself in Hull again, I'll probably stop by for a short visit.
A well-curated space with various rooms filled with amazing artworks - both classical and contemporary. Entry is free which is a bonus and the staff are welcoming and very friendly. It’s well worth a visit.
What a lovely art gallery which has some truly remarkable and fascinating art work, everything is laid out well and the art work is in brilliant condition. Staff here are very friendly and helpful, with a huge smile on their face. Definitely worth visiting here, and it's completely free to enter which is a major bonus.
I had a great time at Ferens Art Gallery this afternoon! The collection consists of renaissance religious works through to modern, including a good range of maritime subjects too. Complete with nice cafe and shop, friendly staff, would recommend!!
Took the grandchildren to see the Brick by Brick international Lego exhibition. We all thoroughly enjoyed it. We then visited the Breaking the Mould: Sculpture by Women since 1945. Another impressive exhibition. A wide range of accessible art for all to see and participate in for free. The Ferens, as ever, is playing its part in keeping Hull a cultural beacon in the country.
A lovely art gallery with the finest collections from old to modern art, various exhibitions, all well curated. Children friendly. A must visit if in Hull, free entry.
Just a great free gallery to visit, lovely little tea room at the back but haven't been there myself for a while but let's be honest where there to see the wonderful paintings and sculptures, if you love art or study it, you should definitely give it a whirl.
The British Museum’s Touring Egyptian Exhibition is a must see at the Ferens Art Gallery in Hull. With something for all ages, this fascinating exhibit explores the discovery of Rosetta Stone and the tomb of Tutankhamun.
