Farmer Butcher Chef
"Farmer, Butcher, Chef is our exciting restaurant located just yards from Home Farm. The final stage of a unique process dedicated not only to showcasing our meat in terms of flavour, quality and provenance, but also to achieving the very best yield from our livestock. Goodwood has been farmed by the family for over three hundred years and is one of the only self-sustaining organic farms in Europe. These organic principles enable our farmer to produce the best-tasting beef, pork and lamb, all of which are reared right here. Our customers will travel farther than their food."

Food was well cooked and presented, though they get you to buy more by putting a tiny portion of veg on the plate. Service effort was good, but they just didn't seem to know what was going on or the menu/alterations. Very limited menu that doesn't cater for vegetarians well and not at all for vegans
Lovely lunch and impeccable service. There were a couple of issues, but the staff fixed them without issue or fuss, just the way it should be. The food was delicious and fresh tasting .
Sunday Lunch . Arrived nice and early to the restaurant lovely setting at Goodwood in West Sussex as one would expect . Was recommended this place by a high flyer chef in London to have a Sunday lunch . It’s been a long wait , as originally I had a reservation booked with the late Chef Albert Roux . Unfortunately due to covid the reservation was delayed . A family affair we chose the Roast Rump of beef served with Yorkshire pudding and roast potatoes and accompanied by some cabbage and carrots . Tables were spaced out , friendly atmosphere and genuinely polite manager showed us to a lovely table . We requested 3 of beef to be over done , one to be cooked as per chefs recommendation , unfortunately they came a bit of miss match of plates and had to play pass the plate .. around the table . The beef was cooked rare to Medium , for me was good . Slightly colder then warm . The other beef was still rare , which again is unfortunate . I was surprised the girls ate it The meat was slightly fatty and held a fair amount of gristle . Ordered extra Gravy .. slightly under seasoned . However all in all a good Sunday lunch , dessert was baked Alaska which was throughly enjoyed by all . Extra sides of braised cabbage was tasty . Drinks were good however when paying 22.00 pounds for 175ml of glass of wine one would expect that the waiter would pour the wine at the table so we could see the bottle it’s the experience . Not just to arrive at the table on a tray as bringing a pot of Earl Grey tea for example even that comes with label and a tag . Nice room , nice setting , a nice Sunday lunch . Good Gastro pub food essentially !!
Delicious food, very friendly staff, a true farm to table concept.
Wonderful service, delicious food from the estate.
Wonderful meal all around, great wine list, relaxing ambiance… but the cheese course was out of this world. I’ve had nothing like it since Chanterelle in New York closed… even more impressive that most of the cheeses were made on the estate.
Lovely setting, amazing food, friendly staff, and the place is dog-friendly too! Not cheap, but well worth it.
Beautifully presented food limited in size and taste. Service friendly, dogs welcome. Four diners all agreed over priced for standard. Lovely ambience though.
Very disappointing . Went for Sunday lunch yesterday, the 4 /12/2 my parents used their Xmas gift voucher, My parents had lamb, myself beef. All the dinners came out lukewarm, did mention to waitress that food wasn’t hot not her fault she did apologise. She was lovely by the way. I had to order extra gravy to warm it up! Seasonal veg , it said, one carrot, bit of cauliflower cheese, 3 potatoes. My beef had on every slice a grissle . We are locals and have had better from local pubs/ restaurants. For £25 per head, you would expect better.
Gorgeous styling - country with some quirks. Excellent food quality and good portion sizes, attentive but not intrusive staff. All in all a lovely experience. We ate at lunch and the atmosphere was nice and relaxed. Would definitely recommend.
