James who owns the pharmacy is always happy and helpful and goes above and beyond where he can. Sometimes you have a short wait but only due to him being such a popular pharmacy and an asset to the community! have used the pharmacy since he opened 14years ago and have always been pleased with the service and I would definitely recommend for this and the fact his opening hours are brilliant if you work and all the other pharmacies have shut.
The staff are friendly enough.nThey did arrive late to open up the pharmacy on a day they were doing covid vaccinations which caused a long queue outside. Then instead of calling in people in order of their appointments they just proceeded to vaccinate as they were lined up, which meant the people who were booked in first ended up being vaccinated last.nThere really was no point in booking in a time, we should of just turned up whenever, rather than rushing to be there on time.
Quirky is how I would sum it up. The hours do seem a bit unpredictable and the pace of fulfilling prescriptions is generally a little slow. For me the quirkiness is something of a delight but I can see in this fast paced world that some will be frustrated. James is knowledgeable and offers a uniquely personal service. So rare these days.nIt isn’t Boots, but if you want Boots then go to Boots. If you want a service from a cornerstone of the community, from a talented pharmacist who truly cares then this is your place. But, be prepared for a wait.
James was amazing. Had a really painful throat infection and he was able to see me after 7:30pm and give me the treatment I needed despite being busy. Better than the other pharmacy locally 100%
I have used this pharmacy for many years since it first opened in their initial smaller premises in London Street, not just for myself but also for my late father. James has always been professional, responsive and helpful particularly during periods of my very severe ill health. During the pandemic James and his team went way and above what anyone could expect by personally delivering urgent medications to shielded clinically extremely vulnerable patients. I would not even remotely consider using any “chain” or “supermarket” pharmacy as the level of services and knowledge of my conditions would not be consistent. This is because they would not have the same level of interest, care and knowledge of my specific diseases and health challenges. I welcome the changes in the pharmacy portfolio of services and prescribing they will be able to offer in the future, particularly when it is so difficult to get a Dr’s Appointment. With pharmacies being able and allowed to offer more services than previously available because this may also free up appointment slots at the surgery for those with more critical needs, so it will benefit everyone.
