Story

Ettridge Cycles Grimsby, was established by brothers Paul & Steve Ettridge, in 1977. Both had been successful road & track cyclists. Paul had been Lincolnshire Road Race Champion & had won National Championship medals on both hard & grass track. Steve had clocked up wins, both at home & abroad, with racing seasons spent in Holland & France. After a short period, Steve took over Paul’s share of the business & in partnership with his wife, Jean, continues to the present time to run this family business. Paul still occasionally helps out in the shop after more than 30 years ! Steve has spent time as a mechanic on various National & International races, including The Kellogg’s Tour of Britain. Early in 2000, the shop was extended & modernised to give more showroom & workshop space.

You can imagine after 30 years of service in the Grimsby and surrounding areas Ettridge Cycles Grimsby is well equipped with all cycling memorabilia memories of past and present champions through local, national to international status and of course the Tour of France. As you browse through the shop you will find different makes of bikes, off-road, mountain and hybrid bikes. You will also find the fashion boutique of cycling although we are not heavy into the cycling clothing we do have an extensive range, I’m sure you will not be disappointed. We carry everything from a puncture repair outfit- straight the way through to a full carbon road racing hand built specialised bike.

We even offer a saddle fitting service for male and female, plus loan of selective saddles, all you have to do is get your backside down here to try one out. If you are a specialised road racer and you would like us to build you a beautiful pair of specialised road racing wheels we can also do that as well. We are a complete bike shop, we may even offer you a cup of tea or coffee, no doubt you know by now this bike shop has a sense of humour. Most Sundays weather permitting you will find me on my bike, although not as fast as I was many years ago, I am still enjoying and appreciating the passion I have for this sport and the cycling way of life.
