If you want history, ambiance, and great service, this is the place to visit in Liverpool! The live music is fantastic, great beer selection, and the service is top notch. Ask for Amy, she'll take excellent care of you!
Came here for a few drinks and had a great time! Staff were really friendly and served us really quickly, which was great! Prices of the drinks were really reasonable too, so we ended up staying a few! The live music playing was really good, and the guy singing got everyone up and dancing, so it had a great atmosphere! Will definitely be heading back next time we are in Liverpool! Highly recommend!
We visited in late February 2024 as I'd read it had reopened after some renovations. Walking past it earlier the day before, we could see work being done on the floor by the doorway so we headed there on our final evening - after the band in the Cavern Pub had finished their last spot. The internal decor is excellent and love the glass window which gives a view to the room upstairs, with what looked like church pews inside it. Not sure what that's about? Live bands still perform, which is excellent news. It was very busy and had a great atmosphere. It was the last Friday of the month.
A very lively bar with great live music. It is under the same roof as The Rubber Soul which has live music too. Good selection of beers. Popular with stag and hen nights! Definitely worth a visit.
Me and my husband got told to go here by a local and gosh was she right to call it's brilliant, great atmosphere singer live singing with his guitar and peddles like ED was fab.Didn't want to leave had to check in so hurried back for it to ne great. Great how you can walk below or next door for different music was fab, clean and staff were great too. Definitely back when in Liverpool
Booked a trip to Liverpool as a pre-honeymoon short break with my husband and St Matthews was the street I was looking for due to wanting to attend The Cavern. However, it was so packed on Friday and Saturday, that we opted for Eric's bar. We were not disappointed. Great bar, lovely friendly people, sing-a-long tunes to sing and dance to and reasonable drinks. Will definitely return on our next trip!
Space is good. Prices and quality of drinks are robbery. Flat Luke warm pints of beer out the taps and plastic like glass. £6 for cheapest pint. Live singer was alright but plenty of singers and bands on this street. Staff not bothered..
In Eric’s the live music was good so I walked in but the bartender has pushed me out, I asked the security if the bar was closing and they said no. Then I walked to another place close but the same security told me go over because even the second bar was them too. I was so confused and asked several times if they had a problem with me, since I am from United Stated sometimes is difficult to me understand British English… well at the end the security told me they didn’t allow me in their bars because has seemed I have drank too much. I drunk only one “small, light beer” and of course I was not drunk. It is my first time in Liverpool and I saw people drunk from 4 pm, everyday, anywhere… so I would say the security and the bartender are not able to recognize a sober person since they see only drunk people ! Thank you for being so kind with me tonight April 14th - 2024.
Was very lively with friendly staff who seemed to be enjoying the music as much as the customers. Live acts alternated between Eric's stage and the one in Rubber Soul. Only gripe was the song choices were a little generic and predictable but I guess that's to be expected with city centre boozers these days, just quite a leap from the alternative roots of Eric's
Very good live music. Nice atmosphere. The fat lad behind the counter has a bad attitude with co workers & customers.
