Nice easy walk around the reservoir approx 2.5 miles nice and flat gravel path. Lovely scenery and a great place to go in the autumn/winter months. Plenty of pathways leading off the reservoir for those who want go rambling in the surrounding area. Car parks can get busy at weekends.
Beautiful walk and scenery. If you think, oh it's just a walk around a reservoir, you'd be wrong. So many different variations on scenery. You also meet a lot of nice people.
Lovely walk, mostly flat so ok for running or walking. Various places for parking. Great for dog walking. Approx 7000 steps for those needing to get their steps in
One of two connecting reservoir the Entwistle is great faimly walk, the path follows all the way round the lodge an is on one level, all shale paths with a bridge at the half way point. Roughly 4.8miles Round, can be extended too include the Wayoh Reservior as well roughly 9.2miles.
First visit today and it was a lovely walk. Only thing we didn't like was the amount of flies that were on and around us most of the way. It is a flat walk so should be ok for wheelchairs and bikes. There are a couple of narrow areas so be aware of that if you do use a chair. Beautiful surroundings and free parking makes a lovely day out.
Transported into a magical world if you go at the time of sunset. Decent sized public car park. None of the photos have filters applied. will visit more often.
Small car park for about 40 cars, maybe more?? You have to pay £1 but blue badge holders are free. Lovely walls nearby.
Nice flat walk paths can be a bit muddy in places doesn't seem to deter people with prams and wheelchairs. Free parking is available on Batridge Road carpark, the photos are taken from there going over the dam and walking around the Reservoir. The area can be quite busy at certain times.
Amazing place for a family walk, with beautiful views, a well looked after path that's even suitable for pushchairs and prams, and many benches where you can stop and rest during your trip. I'd definitely recommend this place for an afternoon walk. Sadly, I have to give it a 2 star rating due to the disgusting maintenance of this place, as it is full of rubbish, with the bins overflowing everywhere. The parking meter looks like it's been broken for ages, which confuses people about whether they should pay or not. If it is free, this rusty, old box should be removed, or if a payment is required, a new and usable one should be installed.
Space for around 25 cars but fills up quickly. Additional parking along the road leading to the carpark but not much. Parking was free as of 25/09/22 as the pay and display machine was torn apart and there are no longer any pay and display signs anywhere.
