Definitely no longer free at weekends. It's cheaper if you want to faff around downloading and registering for their app but if you just want to park up and pay using a normal payment card then it's quite expensive and you feel ripped off because they are pushing you towards the pointless app. The charges are listed on their website and you pay on exit which I prefer. The experience was easy enough and there were plenty of spaces, it was just expensive for where it is and I'd probably just park somewhere else in future.
Have just returned from parking in NCP Top Way carpark in Bolton as it said on the website free parking at weekends. No such luck. I was charged £3.60 for 2 and a half hours parking. What happened to free parking in December? I’m absolutely disgusted and will not park there again. I was in town to do some voluntary charity work, a rip off.
Very expensive. Car park is ok, until something breaks and then the inbuilt phone line is of no help. “I cannot hear you and I will be disconnecting this call”. Not ok. Not on. What was broken was the QR code reader. So I couldn’t get into the car park to get my car until someone else came along to let us in. Had to stand in the freezing cold…
Plenty of spaces, cheaper if use app and arrive before 09:30 and stay all day, if you come after that and stay for 4 hours it is twice the price which is weird as you think freeing up a space give value to them
Went into Bolton town centre today to do a few hours shopping. Charged £4.80 at this car park. Safely say I won't be parking there again. Cannot believe they have the nerve to charge this much when the businesses need all the help they can get. Know wonder people shop in Bury and other places.
Very secure car park. Hundreds of spaces 700+ and nice wide aisle's. Close proximity to the town centre situated near the Market Place just off Topp Way. Reasonable prices, free for first 2 hour's on weekdays, then £3.10 up to 3hrs then £4.10. Free at weekends and Bank Holidays.
Secure car park. Entrance for cars has roller shutter doors down until you take a ticket. Re entry on foot requires your car park ticket doing before the doors will open. Free parking on Saturdays and Sundays. Very clean and tidy. Good disabled parking and child parking bays. One lift was out of order when I visited.
Tried using the app to pay, which claims to be user friendly and easy. It has over 100 questions in the FAQ! To park a car in a car park! Absolutely ludicrous. The QR code wouldn't work so I grabbed a ticket and then had to pay the regular way, rendering the code I had for free parking completely useless. All made the entire parking process seem really complex. Bring back people in booths taking money and shove your useless app up your bottom!
Disgusted with this car park. TWO of the lifts were out of order and as we were on a C level we had to go down 2 flights of steps before we found a working lift. Also, the QR code didn't work on our way out, and we were trapped 15 minutes waiting for help before someone responded on the intercom, and she sounded like she didn't know what she was doing. If you don't want to become NCP'S prisoners, park on Market Place with its number plate recognition.
Exposed drug needles left outside the stairwell for an entire working period 9am-5pm in plain sight. Definitely not a child friendly carpark, unless you count the 14 year olds drinking vodka and smashing bottles in the stairwells.
