I had a courtesy car through Andover Enterprise through my insurance. Several days before I was due to collect I contacted the branch and paid extra for a larger car which was a Volvo XC90. I was assured the car would be ready for collection “first thing in the morning of the 3rd of September”. Upon arriving at the branch I had to wait over an hour for the car to be ready. I took several pictures of multiple damaged panels, alloys & tyres. I was told that they did not care for small scratches that could be buffed out or alloy damage as it was classed as wear and tear. I went to return the vehicle on the 12th of September. Where a member of the team said there was tyre damage and I would have to pay an insurance excess of £800. I mentioned to him that there was already damage on the tyres when I took the car and had images to prove it. He then proceeded to tell me that “there’s nothing I can do, my risk manager is in & I don’t want to lose my job”. To me this means he wouldn’t have had an issue if the risk manager wasn’t in his branch. Shannon the branch manager said “there’s nothing we can do we have to report it as we can not rent this vehicle out now due to the damaged tyre”. But then rented to me for an additional day as I had a funeral to go to. Overall the experience I had with this branch was below par. The communication between the team is shocking. When I returned the car on the 13th of September I dealt with a different member of the team who said he “fully understood my frustration” and “doesn’t understand why the claim was put through as he wouldn’t class it as damage”. It is also worth mentioning that when I collected the car it had just been washed not dried at all so all parts of the car were wet including the tyres so damaged could have been missed from being spotted.nCategorically, if you are going to take a car from this team, take pictures & video’s of EVERYTHING. They will lie and claim the damage you have evidence of, is not to them, classed as damage, convenient.
I booked a rental car through my workplace, from this branch expecting it to be delivered on Monday at 4 pm as I booked.nnIn the morning, I contacted them, expecting a confirmation call for the drop-off time, as had been the case in my previous experiences. However, no call came.nnBy 4 pm, the rental car hadn't arrived, and considering they closed at 5 pm, I grew concerned, especially since I had plans to drive to Hertfordshire that evening. At 4:30 pm, I called again, waited on hold for nearly 5 minutes, and finally spoke to someone who assured me it was on its way. Optimistic, I waited, but by 4:55 pm, with no sign of the car, I called the branch again. The phone was picked up and promptly hung up, and subsequent attempts led to an automated message stating the branch was closed.nnFrustrated, as I had planned to leave by 4:30 pm, and the evening was progressing, the car finally arrived at 5:20 pm, without an apology or explanation for the delay. On inspection the next morning, I was informed that their was no damage recorded however the next morning in the daylight I looked around the vehicle to discover misaligned bumpers, damaged/scuffed alloys, and scratches across the bodyworknnThe vehicle was scheduled for Wednesday 8am collection and that didn't happen; after calling, I was told it would be picked up at 1pm, but that time also passed without any collection. At 6:30 pm, someone showed up unannounced to collect the car, without any prior notice.nnDespite my workplace consistently using Enterprise, my experiences with them always involve issues. Their customer service is shocking and given the choice, I wouldn't opt for their services at all
Had an amazing experience with Enterprise car hire. Really easy to book the hire car, pay for it and then collect it. Everything explained to me. No hidden costs etc. 72 reg automatic car to drive. Easy to return, and they even dropped me off home afterwards.
All interactions with staff either by phone or in person were friendly and really helpful. I needed to change some arrangements at a late stage and it was dealt with sympathy and kindness, just so helpful in my stressful situation. I really appreciated the thoughtful response. A really first class service.
I rented a car in Oct last year. When the car was in my possession the tyre went flat. I called the enterprise helpline which directed me to the AA. The AA came out inflated my tyre at my home. They said the tyre was fine and I had the car for another week with no troubles. I handed the car back later in the week and got my £200 deposit back.nnIn Jan this year I got an invoice to pay £300 for a new tyre and an AA recovery. Turns out they expected me to pay for a new tyre even though they changed it 6 days after I handed back the car. I have been disputing this since mid Jan, each time I am put in touch with a new claim handler which knows nothing about the case. This has now finally come to an end and I have still had to pay for the AA call out plus admin fees which has come to £200.nnDon’t use enterprise. Any issue they will try to put the blame on you and if you have an issue don’t use their helpline service. You will end up paying.
