We didn't stay just went for lunch. New owners? Chef? What an improvement! Menu was simple and delicious, fabulous steaks, crispy fries and a great dressed salad. Surpassed my expectations! Friendly and lovely staff. Will be back!Service: 5/5
Our room was very nice,although for some reason we had to make our own bed? We had a lovely night in the pub,had a few drinks and a reasonable meal. Unfortunately as the pub got busier space became a bit more of a premium. We were rather tersly asked to move by a quite short tempered staff member as it was difficult to deliver food,when this didn't couldn't happen she threatened to get us removed. I believe she was the manageress as the other bar staff were exemplary. She single handedly spoilt a decent night out.
Would have been 5 stars, but not enough vegetarian and vegan meals - I was staying the night there with one Vegan and one vegetarian daughter. Plenty of meat on the menu for me! Rooms: Comfortable and spacious, a large room.
Quality produce costs; go find out for yourself. Highly recommended. Needs a bit of a spruce up, but still a great authentic pub....Service: 5/5

We visited friends in the village yesterday and six of us had the pleasure of eating outside at this lovely pub. To begin with the staff could not have been more attentive and pleasant. Nothing was too much trouble for them. The food was top class, the roast dinner which if there had been a vegetarian option for I certainly would have had. It looked and apparently was delicious. However I had their vegetarian lasagne which came with salad. I have to give my compliments to the chef, it was such a large portion and possibly one of the tastiest I have ever had. Thank you to everyone there. We will certainly be visiting again.
