Great neighborhood restaurant. Best meal we've had in ages. The food was faultless. The octopus particularly good. Love the concept of sharing dishes although not like tapas as they come one at a time - but you don't have to have it like this. Wine is rather pricey. All of the staff were particularly friendly and accommodating. Loved seeing the kitchen at work. We will definitely be back as the season changes.
Really good food for sharing. Was pleasantly surprised. Was quite a journey there considering that it's a bit further out of central london. But can get there quite easily with a bus. The food is very light and yummy. The service is fast, polite and charming. If you're in a group of 4 or more, definitely avoid the set menu. All the dishes on the set menu are on the a la carte already and it is much more fun to just get one of all main dishes and share with your friends. It's a small restaurant with hipster vibes and feel surprisingly cozy. Highly recommend. PS: the mussels are sooooo good!!!!!
delicious sharing plates, based on simple ingredients cooked in an imaginative way. we had broccoli with yoghurt and chilli oil, chicory with walnuts and a sort of pecorino cheese, agretti with bread and tomato sauce, and flat iron steak everything was delicious. ordering a la carte is rather expensive, the 4 course set menu is much better value but a bit inflexible given that the whole table must opt in.
Do not do the tasting menu here. Come with three other friends and just order almost everything off the menu. Comes to about the same price and honestly food here is great.
Great food and really nice selection of wines!
went a couple of times and it is the best restaurant in East London. Simple, slick, smart interiors, very knowledgeable staff, who make you feel welcome. The wine list is unreal and we loved loved loved the watermelon cocktail, and tried the whole menu. Pure perfection. The head chef even came to our table to have a chat. The Michelin star is well deserved and we cannot wait to go back.
This restaurant is a must for all Londoners! We had 5 dishes and it was so hard to pick which one was the best because quite literally they were all up there with the best restaurant dishes I've ever had in my life. The fish, chicken, mushrooms and then our two dishes had unique flavours with the freshest vegetables. The service, wine and decor also make Ellory a 10'er. I highly recommend, if you don't live in East London, make the trip, it's that special.
I really wanted to like this place, the food is good i had the menu but not yet very defined, has potential! The cod was very good, but why with clams? And please work on your desserts! The biggest problem with this place is the service, suggesting a place at the bar when you have reserved a table is a no go, forgetting two times to bring the glas of wine when the food arrives is a no go, not taking away the empty plate after 10 minutes or so while standing next to my table and talking to each other is a no go.
Really excellent experience. Lovely staff. Very good food. First time I've ever really enjoyed mussels... I notice one of the other reviews says don't bother with the tasting menu and funnily enough the only thing we had from it the pollock was the least interesting dish of the night. Steak was great, burrata was beautiful, mussels were actually kind of amazing, to my surprise. With wine was £150 for two. Which when we were pissed felt like a steal, and even now feels like decent value. Definitely worth a visit.
Excellent food, wide variety of options including solid vegan ones. My guests enjoyed their abundance of meat, including chicken livers that made their eyes roll. My vegan options were novel flavours combined to make an interesting risotto not the kind of mush you often get as an afterthought. Staff were knowledgeable, polite and classy, the whole evening was tip top.
