Sadly a very bad experience. Food took more than an hour to arrive, and the pub wasn’t even half full. Staff are mostly nice, hence the two stars instead of one, but the rest was terrible. Long waits, forgot our order and food was very bad. Green beans that looked like they were 2 weeks old. Chicken with chorizo had no chorizo and it was drenched in jam so was the salad and the sweet potato that goes with it, so it was extremely sweet. Still, chicken was extremely dry. Most dishes we ordered were underwhelming. Beef burger was over cooked and had no flavour. Mac and cheese is ok, but that’s about it.
Great place to have a bite to eat. Small amount of parking around to the rear. This place always appears to be busy but do ask as they can usually squeeze you in. The food served here is always of good quality. The servers are always polite, prompt and well presented. It does have a sports bar feel to it but if you choose a table to the rear of the building it feels more comfy. The toilets were spotless. A nice touch was getting a five pound voucher for our next visit.
Great atmosphere, staff were very friendly and food was good. I was disappointed one out of only 2 vegetarian options were not available
Great friendly staff very good menu good portions and prices. Already told our friends found a new place to go. Food was tasty hot and nicely presented. Try it for yourselves.
First visit, absolutely % Best steak pie for a long time especially when eating out.
I have had many meals here in the past and not sure what has happened but yesterday's food just was not what it used to be. I ordered a £10.45 goats cheese salad. Salad leaves , beetroot & cheese..... nothing else.....dry & tasteless. My pal ordered a steak pie, beans & chips it was £9.45 & miserable looking.......thinking new owners or cut backs
Hadn't been in for a while but the food, as always, was excellent. Had the Scampi. My wife and our family friend had the Fish. Novelty idea serving it in a wooden box !!! Staff were great to. Recommended.
We arrived on Thursday 29th December at 2pm. We requested the lunch deal advertised , only to be told by our lovely server that this was unfortunately not an option. We ordered drinks which took an age to come as did the food. I needed another drink so went up my self rather than wait on the server. It was only then that I realised there was only one girl behind the bar and one girl serving the meals. The girls were brilliant and very polite. Considering they were under so much pressure. Girls were great as was the food but would have been a better experience if the girls had help. Well done girls under difficult circumstances.
Would not recommend this place for drinks when eating cause you’ll be in for a long wait. Arrived at 3:45pm. Order taken at 4pm. Drinks arrived at 4:20pm Tea was returned as tea bag refused to work very weak.2nd pot much better. Meal arrived 5 minutes later. 4 out of 10. Meal- chips not cooked properly.
This was my first and unfortunately last visit to the Elizabethan tonight - as one of our party finished off their starter a live snail crawled out from the salad accompanying their starter!! It actually slid down her knife!!! Reported to the manager who admitted this was a recurring issue and seemed quite unperturbed by this information overall the food was not worth the money they are charging - a portion of chicken korma contained only 2 pieces of chicken the only highlight was the service from the young lady waiting on our table she was great and very attentive
