Elizabeth Botham's Tea Rooms
"Elizabeth Botham set up her bakery in the ancient fishing port of Whitby over 150 years ago. She began by selling her bread and cakes from a basket at the local market. Botham's traditions are now proudly continued by the fifth generation of her family. We have five shops and three Tea Rooms in Whitby, Sleights & Pickering, North Yorkshire. We are famous for Whitby Lemon Buns, Yorkshire Brack, Plum Bread, Shah Ginger Biscuits and Chocolate Japonaise 'Japs', although our repertoire includes so much more, including seasonal bakes highly anticipated throughout the year, such as Strawberry Tarts, Winter Brack and Easter Simnel Cakes. We also serve delicious Afternoon Tea in our traditional Tea Rooms - come and join us, a warm welcome awaits!"

Favorite tea room in Pickering. Lovely, welcoming staff. Great cakes
This is a little sweet haven. The outside garden is paradise on earth and they sell really nice Yorkshire meals and cakes. It is a very cosy place to eat.
Lovely cafe in the heart of Pickering. Very friendly staff and really delicious food and a really nice atmosphere. Good old Yorkshire tea. What more could you ask for in these troubled times Parking: Parking near by. Within walking distance.
Dissapointing !We have been a few times had a meal and coffee but today we were made to feel bad a Lady said table for 2 she said give me a minute I will just clean the table we waited patiently then she said ready then this other senior member of staff said no you can't sit down till a table comes up till she realised we had been dealt with She just looked at us not pleasant just stared at us now that has put my Husband off from going there again !The place was full it totally spoilt going in there it was my last meal with my husband before he goes into hospital what a shame .
Lovely tea room and bakery located opposite the NYMR Pickering station. Relaxed atmosphere ideal for enjoying one of their superb range of cakes/ breads and a drink all made by Bothams bakery in Whitby. They also serve lunches. The staff are very welcoming making for a very pleasant experience.Food: 5/5
Splendidliohs! With bells on. Lovely staff who bent over backwards to accommodate. Very helpful and friendly. Good range of drinks - and cakes! Reasonably priced food. There's some outdoor seating out the back. I had a ploughman's platter with Cheddar and Wensleydale. A good, filling plateful, colourful and tasty, by 'eck! Gunpowder Green Tea, yum. Homemade apple pie was, oh my goodness, outstandingly good! Best part of the meal. If you visit here you must try it, soooo nommmm yummy flippin good. I can still taste it now. I'd travel to Pickering just to have this apple pie again. Am I recommending this establishment...? Errrrr, big fat yesss.
Meal was OK but the scone was claggy like those long life ones from supermarkets. Not what I expected and disappointing.
Splendid cosy tea-room, great staff and even better menu. Shop at front so what you missed for your afternoon tea you can take away later.
Excellent tea selection, lovely homemade cakes and breads. Traditional and inventive.
