Thornton le Dale Hidden gem , Great selection of food , drinks & snacks super indoor and outdoor seating areas , 4 of us had lunch I had steak pie and for me it was the best I have ever had , lovely pastry with succulent tender diced beef and gravy complemented with chips & garden peas .My son had vegetarian lasagne & chips from a very good selection of vegetarian on the menu & my twin granddaughters had the kids sausage and mash which they loved , After a great lunch here you exit into there gift shop , look forward to going again ! Vegetarian options: Begin breakfast is delicious
We had a nice meal and a hot drink, staff were very friendly, spotlessly clean and a lovely bun shop next door spent a small fortune buying different cakes/buns to take home and for my son.
Arrived at 11.55am so was just in time to order the cooked breakfast, which stops at 12 o'clock. My friend had steak pie. Both meals were delicious. The service is good and the decor is clean and attractive. Always enjoy going here.
No tap water available even after we spent £40 on food and drink!!! The panini's were yummy with a generous helping of filling and salad so can recommend on that front. What we found strange was we were not allowed tap water or to fill out water bottles and were told to buy a water bottle...which we didn't. There wasn't too much of a welcoming or friendly atmosphere from the staff there, however food came quickly and was nice. The garden was cute and if you can eat there we would recommend. We just felt that for £40 being told we weren't allowed tap water only asked for 2 glasses was really disappointing. Vegetarian options: Egg mayo, brie and cranberry were good. There was veggie chilli on the menu too.
Love this cafe for a delicious breakfast. I usually have the scrambled egg on toast which is a very generous serving. My only complaint would be the large coffee isn't quite large enough for me - so I have to go back and buy another!Food: 5/5
Fantastic little cafe great service and very friendly, but what has happened to the cake shop next door. I had a Bakewell tart and a chocolate flapjack and both were abysmal the icing was so sweet it destroyed the flavour of what was underneath, although it didn’t look like anything I’ve ever seen in a Bakewell before. The flapjack was so full of syrup that it fell apart and was just far too sweet. I have been many times before during the summer, this was our first time out of season maybe different staff but just not the same standard, sorry.
Love this excellent cafe in the heart of Thornton le Dale. Good menu. You have to order at the counter but food delivered to table. Its a great little stop off for us on our travels.Food: 5/5
Baldersons welcome cafe is in Thornton le dale. We called in on Sunday lunchtime for a cup of tea. Cafe was very busy but managed to find a seat. We had hot cross buns and a pot of tea. Good quality tea and plenty of it, the buns were home made and very buttery, toasted nicely and were absolutely delicious! There were plenty of pleasant staff who were very well organised. A lot of the customers were eating meals from the extensive menu. Will return! Parking: Limited parking outside, large car park 2 minutes away.
Disgusting rude manager. Who leaves a 4 year old child in tears over a ice cream and make other customers feel that uncomfortable that they have to leave. The higher staff of this place that’s who. It was horrible to witness. Some people need to go back to school to learn some customer service skills!! Food and drinks awful also. Coffee was cold and had a awful aftertaste and food was only luke warm, greasy and over priced.
Friendly staff, a comfy setting and a menu with a nice range of choices. Sadly let down by cleanliness e.g. of glasses, cutlery and crockery and the quality of the food at least of the mains, particularly in relation to the price.Food: 2/5
