What a lovely little cafe and general store. This is exactly what you would hope to fund when out and about. Good quality tea, great cakes and the scones were just awesome. We had a fruit scones with strawberry jam and a blueberry and ginger scone with blueberry and lavender jam. Both were good but the latter was exceptional. Lovely staff who were friendly and attentive. I would score 10 out if 10 if Google would let me!
What a fantastic little place with amazing people and good food. Definitely a place to visit and have a cupper and a slice of home made cake. My little treat today was a Yorkshire ham and cheese sandwich . Really enjoy the people and the company. Food: 5/5
We arrived at around 11.45 on a sunny Saturday in June and were helpfully warned there was already a wait for lunches. Very friendly and chatty staff even though obviously busy. So we opted for cakes and coffees instead, which were generous portions and more than enough for an early lunch. Carrot cake and brownie - can recommend. Lovely picnic seating area outside overlooking the green and surrounded by trees and stone-built cottages, very picturesque. Dog-friendly. Space for kids to play. Popular stop for bikers too.
Excellent food big portions, lovely friendly staff and well priced.Recommended dishesYorkshire Ham Egg and Chips
I've never got past the gorgeous cakes before so made effort to go for breakfast and it was well worth it, I had an amazing breakfast here today, I've had lots of breakfasts and I know a good one! The coffee was nice and rich too. Staff are always really really friendly. Can't fault the place. Plus all the roads around are epic. :
Really unnecessarily hostile to hikers. We came, bought some of their lovely food. However when we were eating outside on the picnic tables we got shouted at to leave, despite the vast majority having bought from them. Its a great shame because the other members were going to buy a few more things, but were quite appalled at the attitude of the servers so decided against it in the end. As a group we will never go here again. EDIT: respectfully, there were 11 in our group not 20 and 7/11 had bought something, with the rest of the group planning to before we left. So yes that is a majority. Yes you asked in a calm voice the first time, in which the ones who weren't exclusively eating your produce did move. But the ones who stayed, who were exclusively eating your produce, were approached by a larger gentleman who did raise his voice hence the shouting comment. All in all, it was not a good experience. As a group we do try to encourage our members to give their custom to small businesses that we pass along the way, and have never, in the years that we have been running for, had a problem like this. So yes, it was unnecessarily hostile.
Visited tea room today for directions. The ladies working there were so helpful and made us some really nice food. Great customer service. Thank you for your help and support.
Stopped off at the tea rooms on our way threw Rosedale Abbey. Beautiful area. We parked up the bikes and had scone and tea stop . So yummy. Just round the corner are some public toilets too so à handy peaceful stop.
Excellent tea room, in wonderful location. Very efficient young lady in the restaurant part, friendly & great family business. Will visit again in the summer.
Really enjoyed our lunch here, very clean, owners and staff very polite good quality food. But they say the best comes in small packages by this I mean this is a small independent tea shop..
