Excellent wee hotel, staff were attentive and friendly. Room was clean and tidy. The room had a good sized TV and Sky, a fridge along with the ubiquitous kettle, coffee and tea making facilities.nnHaving a room with a balcony was special, albeit without a spectacular view. Would be great in the summer when its warm.nnMicrowave and toaster was available in the communal hall, a really nice touch. There is also games and books, in case you get bored.nnBar shows live sports, with pool and darts available it was too busy to get a game due to live sports been shown.nnHad an evening meal and breakfast, both were good sized portions and reasonably priced. Food was of a high standard.nnThey keep birds in the garden, a really unique feature.nnWhile Kirkcaldy is not one of my favourite places, the Elbow Room stands out like a jewel.
We tend to eat here weekly and always find the experience excellent. We pushed the boat out and had Xmas dinner there Our party of three had different food choices but everything was ro the highest standard. Quantity, quality and service. Well done to everyone involved. See you next week.
!! AVOID WE WILL NEVER BE BACK !!nnCHRISTMAS DAY DINNER RUINED!!nnWe were a party of 6 adults and 2 kids. On arrival we found the staff and service to be rude, flustered and not very professional. We were shown by a member of staff where we were to be seated by pointing her finger and saying “that table down there”. Not very welcoming or professional in my opinion.nTo be fair the first course was rather quick on arrival. Although the soup was Luke warm and extremely bland. Also there was some confusion with some of the orders. There was no mention on the menu that the haggis bon bons would come branston pickle nThe main course wasn’t even edible. 3 in our party had steak pie and they all said it was ok but again extremely bland. As for the turkey dinner 3 of our party refused to eat it. The quality of the produce was unacceptable. The veg was undercooked the turkey was like processed cold meat. The stuffing is the worst stuffing I have ever tasted, the texture was like mush! We all decided we had enough and wanted to leave, therefore didn’t have our dessert.nWe complained to the manager and explained our dissatisfaction with the food, but I feel she wasn’t really interested and still charged us for 2 courses. Her arrogance has infuriated me. To be told “sorry I can’t do anything it’s Christmas Day” YES I KNOW ITS CHRISTMAS DAY AND YOU RUINED OUR CHRISTMAS DINNER!! The lack of customer service is what’s prompted me to leave a review. SO OUR CHRISTMAS DINNER COST US NEARLY £400 for a round of drinks and some lentil soup!nnABSOLUTELY SCANDALOUS AND WILL NEVER RETURN!!
We were here for Christmas dinner and all I can say is wow. We go out every year and this was by far the best meal we have had. Food was piling hot, very tasty and worth every penny. Staff were very professional and polite. One of the best Christmas meals we have had. We all had the turkey it was delish. We have already asked if we can be booked back in for next year. Thank you the elbow room for a good day. Lorraine Wishart.
Not an enjoyable experience, made too feel very unwelcome were told they were fully booked and given a time limit for table, whilst we were their only 3 more tables became occupied. When we left the place was nearly empty. Food overpriced and unfriendly waiting staff. Would not recommend
