Food is great, but i find it a bit too expensive. Can be tricky that they write prices/ capita and not per dish always. With my friend we choose paella for 2 person, but finally payed the double price. Plus they charge 10% of service fee.
Amazing meal with friends. Great friendly staff and perfectly cooked food.
Chipped crockery see pictures terrible service and didnt get all the food we ordered. Had to wait an hour and a quarter to get any food and then, despite the fact that it was from the fixed tapas menu, items didn't arrive. When raised with the manageress no explanation was given and we were told that the price would not be reduced. Eventually we were given some wine instead. The food was tasty but the organisation is atrocious. Portion size is tiny, 1 albondiga each, one tiny piece of chorizo each, plenty of potatoes and veg but no calamari or desert. Not recommended at all.
Friendly staff and good food. A shame some of the items we wanted weren't available.
We bought a Groupon voucher for 6 tapas and a bottle of wine. No bread and not many dishes available.
The food was great with some really interesting dishes... But the service was poor. One girl was nice but spilt some drink on my coat, the other dropped a dish on the table and then sprayed cleaning fluid near our food. We were also left with a dish on our table after everything else had been cleared away. We still had an enjoyable time but refused to pay the service charge. Might try again once the staff have had more time to train.
Good food but poor service, unfortunately. We were overlooked, tables not cleared, nobody asked if we wanted dessert. The saving grace was meeting an ex student of mine who was in her first week waitressing. Very lovely. Considering the money we spent, I would think twice before going again
Been to El Puerto before and it’s been fine. However, not so good on 21 September. A chicken dish was delivered and the inside was freezing cold. Replacement was provided, but not fancied. The rest of the food and service seemed fine. Unfortunately, when we arrived home, two of us had severe stomach problems. I can only assume the lack of care with the uncooked dish was a signal of other issues. I don’t know for sure. I dropped the restaurant a note and said we had leftovers which they might like to test - no response. Shame they don’t care for their customers well-being. Won’t be going back. Not nice to have your integrity questioned once, let alone twice. They've now found my email and the fact they changed the chicken croquettes at the time. makes it incredible they can deny the dish was served freezing cold on the inside. And 'sorry', but the stomach problems didn't come on until we got home, the manager wasn't there. If you want to be talked down to and accused of lying - this is the place to go.
We waited a long time to be seated, with three waiters walking past us without acknowledging our existence near the entrance. We had booked a table for two but having confirmed our reservation they did not have a table. We were seated on a larger table with another couple. The bench and table wobbled horrendously on the uneven flooring to the extent that we had to apologise to the other couple when we moved. We waited a long time for a menu. In the end we searched out a waiter to ask them for a menu. They could only find one menu which looked like an elephant had sat on it...crumpled and creased. We then waited a considerable time for anyone to come to our table, even though there were plenty of staff behind the bar not looking very busy. In the end we decided to go somewhere else to get better service. Not sure what was going on but for the time we were there we received some of the worst service in Bristol. So they excelled in that department! Didn't try the food but the service deserves one star as even when we told them we were leaving they looked less than bothered.
We waited around 15 minutes after being seated before anyone took our drinks and food order. Food was underwhelming, the chicken croquettes were cold in the middle and the meat was dry, no real flavour. We ordered 7 dishes between 2 and left hungry. For around £7 a dish this is not worth it. Although the waiter was friendly the service was almost non existent.
