Award-winning city centre tapas restaurant and bar. Serving seasonally-influenced dishes, inspired by modern Spanish cuisine.
El Gato Negro is an award-winning tapas restaurant and bar, now open at 52 King Street in Manchester. Chef/proprietor Simon Shaw and his team serve a stunning selection of seasonally-inspired tapas and other dishes influenced by modern Spanish cuisine.
We opened El Gato Negro back in 2005 with the aim of bringing some of the magic of modern Spanish cooking to the north – and that remains our passion today. Our dishes are about combining the best ingredients – be they Spanish or locally sourced – with modern techniques which are rooted in tradition.
The result is it’s all about creating bold, distinctive cuisine, complemented by a great range of Spanish wine… and sharing that experience in a relaxed, friendly environment. We look forward to welcoming you to El Gato Negro in Manchester!
