El Cheap Ou is, apart from a shop, a living artwork. We renamed the place using a confusing mix of languages spoken on Deptford High Street conveying the idea of treats for a cheap price in a humorous way, reinforcing the message with the strap line: LOVE YOU CAN AFFORD. The mural above is a riddle.
Great eccentric grocery store with many goods self-imported from Spain, France and elsewhere in Europe. Local institution run by original Deptford traders. Good for olive oil, espresso coffee, chocolate and dry goods. Resident cat has preternatural abilities.
Ever changing selection of cut price groceries. Some really lovely stuff at way below what you'd normally pay, always worth a look in to see what they have that week.
Bargain basement prices, great range of mostly food, including honey, spices, sweets and olive oil. Also a small range of pharmacy products such as vitamins. Friendly shopkeeper. Currently hosts 2 cute kittens.
