Probably the best fish and chips we've had.
It is Friday and I by habit usually have fish and chips but I will not be getting them from RJs Eden Hot Spot. What used to be a really good chip shop has gone right down hill. A couple of weeks ago the fish and chips were not of a very good standard so I did not go for a week or two. last Friday I thought I would try them again what a mistake that was. The fish was in between two layers of disconnected batter and did not taste very good, the chips I am not sure if they were reheats, had been laying around for some time or if the oil was too hot or had not been changed but I do know they were the WORST chips I have ever tasted. The two fish, the chips and the kids meal all ended up in the bin they were impossible to eat.
Very Slow, Had to wait at least 30 minutes which felt like an hour for the frozen breast of chicken to be defrosted in microwave. Unfortunately it wasn't worth the wait! Even the chips were disgusting all stuck together in a big clump. Dog won't even eat it! So in the bin it had to go! Total waste of money not recommended!!!
Sorry but I must have picked the wrong day to go here going by other reviews. But the food was not great uncooked batter wet and soggy and waited for ages even though there was a lot of staff and it was not very busy.
Not the "hot spot" anymore was 5 stars when RJ had it never tried it when it was the hot spot as I didn't like the "Victoria hot spot" same owner but now the "EDEN CHIPPY" great wee chippy again
Don't buy the foot long hotdog as it went in the bin. The roll was soggy with the kilo of burnt onions in it plus the roll was hard at the ends. The sausage was tasteless. Wudnt even feed that to the pigs ...Even the bin spat it out....
Terrible portions since being under new management never looks like a full fish mostly all batter and big empty gaps in between. AVOID
Freshly cooked everything, well worth the wait, lovely staff and trainees great
