As a former employee, I can only say my experience has been disappointing. I recommend not working here (particularly if you are from an ethnic minority) as managers here do not take complaints of unfair treatment and discrimination seriously. HR ignores emails. While most colleagues are nice, some of the managers are vindictive bullies (as mine was), and treat you like slaves. If you speak up you are silenced. Avoid at all costs.

The ESCC 'Get a grip' campaign' is moronic! Saying that illness is no excuse for school absences is beyond belief. The council themselves have to pay an absence management company a heap every year to hound their own employees back to work! Pot - Kettle! 
You catch a grip ESCC!
