This a lovely place to stay for a quiet break. The cottage Virginia was very comfortable, but some of the cooking utensils were very poor quality baking trays in particular. I would also have added a measuring jug and suitable mixing bowl. Overall, I was happy with my stay and would certainly recommend them.nMay I also add that as an owner of a caravan for 40 years, I thought the caravan site was excellent.
What a truly wonderful holiday we have had in Devon at this lovely CL site. From the moment of first contact everything was seamless & communication was second to none.nThe site itself is beautiful. I love how natural it is & it’s so very peaceful. The facilities are wonderful you never expect much from a CL but these are superb and the enclosed dog walk is a real bonus, especially with a new puppy on board! I loved walking round that field it was the favourite part of my morning.nAll the info provided to us was brilliant, we enjoyed 2 nice meals at the Claycutters Arms a lovely walk there and back through the woods where the service was excellent and we even managed to see some bats on our walks back to the site.nnAll in all we couldn’t rate the site more highly nor commend the communication and service more enthusiastically. We will be telling everyone we know about this site and the cottages, which are perfect for exploring Devon.nI actually shed a tear or 2 when we left the site because I enjoyed the stay so much.nnThanks again for a wonderful, memory filled holiday in Devon.nnThe Wells Family
We stayed for two nights at East Dunley, we had a very nice hard standing pitch, next to a field where I could play Frisbee with the dog. Very quiet and peaceful site with very clean facilities. Only one shower which I imagine gets busy when the site is full. Very handy for South Dartmoor we went to Haytor and walked to Saddle Tor and back with the motorhome parked just below. Handy for Bovey Tracey too. Would definitely come here again.
Clay and very muddy site after even small rain showers. Motor homes churning the grass up. Very poor connection for phones. Dogs roaming the CL site and one owner didn't pick mess up. Worst CL site I've ever been on. My hubby and I booked 10 nights but left after 7. Sorry but I wouldn't recommend it. On the plus side the toilets and shower were kept very clean.
Quiet location with good facilities new shower, toilet and washing plus WiFi. Friendly staff. However sloping pitches and works to improve drainage meant there was a lot of dirt patches with no grass and as it rained a lot it did get muddy.nnAlso there are additional charges for children and awning which meant we were paying £29 a night, which is expensive for a CL site.nnNot far from Bovey Tracey and Chudleigh Knighton with shops, pubs and places to eat.nnIf you are into biking I would recommend Halden Forest about 15 mins by car.
