Dyffryn Gardens
"A garden for all seasons, Dyffryn is undergoing an ambitious revival to return to its Edwardian splendour, with a fascinating botanical collection amongst the best in Wales. Meandering along paths, through intimate archways, you will discover exquisitely designed garden rooms, grand lawns and an impressive arboretum. The walled gardens yield a bounty of fresh produce and are home to an enormous glasshouse, housing a striking collection of rare cacti and orchids. Standing at the heart of the grounds is the Grade II* listed Dyffryn House, an eclectic mansion partially-furnished and flourishing after extensive conservation work. A place to take in the views and see a major restoration in action, Dyffryn truly is a garden to inspire and enthral"

Visiting just after two storms meant that a lot of the site was closed until safety checks had been completed. Nevertheless Dyffryn is a pleasant place to visit and there was still a lot to see. I will go back in late spring or summer to enjoy the gardens and arboretum. The house is closed to the public. The cafe produced a decent light lunch and I ate on the sunny south facing terrace. The car park is large with an electric charging point. Adequate toilets and a big gift shop that also sells plants.
The gardens were very nice for a wander around. Lots of little paths to explore and secret areas to sit. The house wasn't open unfortunately and we were informed that it probably wouldn't open again until next year. We enjoyed a nice lunch in the cafe.
Absolutely beautiful place. Spent almost the whole day here, just so gorgeous! All the staff are super helpful and friendly, the cafe has some super tasty food too. We spent ages in the natural play area with my toddler and I can't wait to come back again soon. Has definitely become one of my favourite places to visit
Beautiful gardens, a nice cafe where you can watch birds feeding over the river in the window, and a big manor house closed for refurbishments on our visit l. There's a glass house of succulents and various Japanese statues which we found pretty interesting. The shop also has some nice art, crafts and agricultural bits. Wear sensible shoes if you plan on walking the woodland.
I had a lovely day here with my family. A lot of the gardens are currently being re-worked but there was still plenty to see wandering through the maze of different zones. I will definitely be returning to this gorgeous spot in the future!
Went here then it was cold and wet day. It's a nice place to go for a walk. But definitely would wait for spring or summer to go there, then all plants, trees and flowers have blossomed so you could also have nice picnic with family or friends. It's a beautiful garden. Cafe and shop ladies was very lovely it's also dog friendly
Nice location for a wander around the gardens and different areas of the gardens. The house was under construction and looks like it could be a long time until open. Lots of areas around the gardens that were off limits because of ongoing work being done. Watch out for the wasps around the seating cafe area as it was impossible to sit there.
Spent a good two hours walking around the gardens in late March. Lots to see. Tea and ice cream in front of the house was very pleasant. Definitely would visit again
Dyffryn Gardens is a pleasant National Trust location, boasting a large estate with an expansive garden and arboretum. Traveling to this location on a wet and windy day did mean that the arboretum was closed to the public, but don't let that spoil your visit. There's plenty to see and do around the estate. The gardens offer plenty in the way of discovering wonderful cubby holes, statues hidden amongst the trees and doorways leading to new scenes - there is plenty to discover in the estate. On a wet day, it's advised to wear suitable footwear as it can get very muddy on some walking trails. The route up towards the greenhouse features some slippery pathways so take care. The on-site café also offers more than tea or coffee. At the back of this rest stop is an expansive book store, offering secondhand books from a plethora of genres for a small fee. You can expect to find plenty of restrooms dotted around this estate too, so you're never too far away from a pitstop if required. Overall, there is plenty to discover at Dyffryn Gardens and we will be eager to revisit in the summer when the arboretum and hopefully the house too reopens. AT.
Really nice gardens, and the trees are really good with a lot of different varieties, Definitely worth a visit if you're a national trust member, £11.00 the house is not open at the moment but they hope to have it open this year, so we'll be back again.
