My daughter took her test last week examiner she had tutted at her all the way through her test, had his coat of ver the handbrake and gear stick all the time . Made her feel so uncomfortable . As soon as she told him she was dislexic his manner totally changed with her once she had introduced herself to him . Lost all confidence now and she won't be returning bk to Blackpool again now wonder there is tests available within a week when other test centres have a 4 month wait or more . All the instructor said she couldn't do f got the worst person to test her and he only passes 2 people a week absolute joke .
It has to be a one star, not because of the examiners, but the management. Story is - Had a test and could see it was frosty, so rang the test centre before setting off as it says on the email - No Answer. Got to the test centre to be told the test is cancelled because of the weather. How hard would it be to have a message on their answering machine, to say tests cancelled due to weather, please leave your name and licence number and we will rebook for you. Nope - you have to drive to the test centre to be told. Come into the 21st Century ! No private company would behave like this - pathetic
Two tests in a month, both were with a greyish haired man whose name I nervously and tragically didn't take in properly, what a fantastic man, he even had me actually laugh during my test at one point and when you consider that these tests were literally in my top five most stressful days in my life and me and him both learned how to clean the FRONT windscreen of my fantastic instructors John Tyrell car. I just had to tell him concisely at the end of the test how much his demeanour had helped me relax. Having had a weak lesson with my instructor and a lacklustre session with a family member in the week prior to my successful test I honestly thought it was a foregone conclusion I was going to go through the motions and make a huge error due to nerves which were kept massively under control due to the perfect atmosphere. One of the best moments of my life when I realised we were on approach to the final roundabout back to the test centre. I took a deep breath and akin to a marathon runner acres clear I suddenly realised I hadn't made an error, this was it, it was happening, I allowed myself to drink it in and almost on purpose hesitated on the final roundabout partly out of caution but genuinely I sort of realised and hoped this was the final moments EVER of me being a learner driver. Professional and observant as Ian is he ofcourse noticed my hesitancy and marked it as a minor but I really hope he reads this and smiles on the small chance he recalls me turning down the clear opening and sees it was the culimination of some extraordinary journey iv been on and I just wanted to indulge myself a brief moment of realisation. If he is any doubt I'm sure he will recall me bursting into tears of relief when he affirmed I had indeed passed. You don't know, nor need to know, why but I had the most awful year and for multiple reasons I had more relying on this test than I could ever really hope to convey. Your mannerisms and kindly attitude helped a defeated man claim a huge victory and you should be very proud, I stepped in that car already resigned to learning the Kirkham test routes ahead of the impending move and ended up leaving with a beautiful bit of paper, thanks again. Don't listen to nonsense about quotas and what not, these men and women are human beings who also took a driving test once upon a time. They have the chance to make some peoples days, months or years with two words - you've passed, it must be the best feeling in the world to see the reactions but really it's on you, the pupil, take responsibility for yourself and know these guys and gals WANT to give you that fantastic news, so concentrate for forty minutes and let them. Take responsibility and life gets much easier. They want you to pass and you start every test with the certificate in hand, not the other way around.
Don't use this test centre, it doesn't matter how good you can drive its a 30% chance you will pass. The instructors are trying to get resits to make more money. On my test my female instructor kept on telling me how covid19 has effected her and she is doing lots of extra work to try and get the money for an holiday. It's a joke. This needs to be looked into. Maybe even a dash cam in the car.
I am a driving instructor and I tell my clients not to use this test centre. The main reason is they always fail you on your first test. This is clearly a way for the instructors to make more money. So if you do use this test centre don't worry if you fail the first time, they just want to make money out of you.
Had my driving test today with my examiner ‘Ian’. Very friendly, professional and calming. Thank you Ian for a pleasant test experience!.
I've had two tests at this test centre my first test was with Matt and although I failed miserably Matt was very kind throughout the test although he must of been thinking what on earth, my second test was with Ann and she was nice and calming, had no issues with this test centre on both occasions
Passed first time, I had Matt as the examiner and he put me at ease. Very professional and positive experience. Thank you!!
Blackpool was the only test centre with availability for 2021, have to say found it an absolute pleasure to take my test here, I had my car cleaned and there were no issues at all. The examiner put me at ease and the whole event went very smoothly, really enjoyed the experience and passed first time. Thanks Blackpool!!
My son he passed on third time , but I know is more prepared good job thanks.
