It has been quite a few years since I was last in Dundee. The train station has gone under a major revamp. The station is now part of the smart Sleeperz Hotel which looks very modern. The waiting area within Dundee Station is small for a big City. The Station is very central for Dundee and really handy for the Discovery Centre. There is one local convenience store within the station. There seemed plenty good connections onwards including a bus timetable to give you options.
An elegantly modern train station. Unless you are a rail fanatic and urban planning devotee like myself who pays intense attention to details of how buildings like this are designed and organised, you will probably not think much about the station. It does not captivate the attention or enrich the mind. But it's still quite lovely. There are far worse places in which to wait for a train.
The city of Dundee is a little quite at night. I really don't know why it's like that. I suspect it could be attributed to the constructions going around the city which makes navigation difficult. While walking and exploring the city, I had owsome Kebab and chips at Corfu Kebab Dundee, a restaurant close to the Stagecoach bus station. The young man that serve me was very friendly and exihibited high level of professionalism. Aside that, the Seagulls here seems to be friendly as from my observation, they allow locals to eat their meal while walking outside without attack. To Dundee Seagulls, thank you for not stealing my food while walk eating like the locals.
A small but neat and clean station with four platforms. It has a coffee shop, waiting room, and toilets, all of which are accessible to disabled people. It also hosts a small Tesco Express outlet. Enjoyed my time here!
Arrived at Dundee 10=April when trains heading north were stopped. The female staff member I spoke to was so helpful she could not do enough. I returned back from Montrose at tea time and had to ask where to get my connection. Another female staff member directed me to my train. Top marks to the Dundee staff
