The Card hall was always called the longest concert hall in Europe! We attended the RSNO Xmas concert of the Snowman with Aled Jones, recently. They venue is always well staffed, with helpful, attentive staff. There are large clean toilets l, a couple of bar areas when shows have breaks. There's the Marryat hall at the side, for smaller shoes, competitions, record fairs. The building is accessible, warm, parking all around the back/side streets/car parks. I like the seats at the balcony, front right, but the hallis sloped so those at the back still have a good view. Check out the programme for the comin year, there's always a mix of rock, pop classical, comedians, school competitions, something to suit all tastes. A gem in the heart of Dundee.
The show was fantastic but the stewards need to stop being so stubborn about people dancing either in aisles or at their seats. After all the audience are there to enjoy themselves not sit still like statues. If i was the bands playing I'd rather see the people watching standing up dancing than all sitting down
went for The Fairytale of New York. Not adequate amounts of stewards to guide people to their seating. Seating in balcony is really unsuitable, hardly any space to actually walk to your seat it's so narrow. Heat was pretty unbearable for the three hours we were there especially for it being December.
Comfortable venue. Lovely to meet all the brothers and sisters after such a long time
Great venue to go and see bands, standing downstairs, seating up in the balcony. Ramps and lifts for anyone with a disability or wheelchair. Large, clean toilets. Bar area spacious, drinks were quite reasonable. Good view of the stage in virtually any of the seats in the balcony. The hall holds on average 2000 people. Parking close by 5-10min walk in Gellatly Street multi storey Car park 24hrs, Council.
Lovely place and centrally located. For parking, there are spaces just behind the main entrance of cairn hall which is convenient but quite limited. More parking spaces would be at the mall nearby which is slightly cheaper and is a covered multi storey car park.
Great acoustics and seating arrangements
Went to Remembrance Concert last Saturday. Absolutely brilliant night, Army brass band, bagpipe band, a Chelsea Pensioner who won BGT singing and a soprano with beautiful voice. Terrific evening.
Too warm indoors, smells of moth balls and set up of bar is a little like they have never expected people to have drinks ie re and white tape to encourage people to line up? We went to see Fairy Tale of New York which wasn't very good at all, we tried to persevere and think positive hoping it would get better but it didn't unfortunately
Had a great time at the trad awards, was great to see the hosts speaking Scots and Scottish Gaelic. A lot of wonderful talent performing on stage. A visit to the caird hall is always a fun visit!
