Booked a try curling session for while we were in the area for a holiday for my wife's birthday. Our instructor was Olympic bronze medalist Claire Hamilton! If they arranged this specially for us, knowing the occasion, what a wonderful thing to do, by both Graham who organises the sessions, and by Claire for being there to teach us. We has a brilliant introduction to the sport. So much harder than it looks. Would have loved to have had time to book a beginners session, but holiday plans didn't allow time. Great place, lovely people. Wish we lived closer!

Staff very friendly and helpful. We take our daughter there for beginners skating lessons (under 5) which she loves. There are two fun sessions on a Friday and Saturday mornings for under 5s. There is also a skating club, with figure and synchronisation. Ice hockey for men and women at all levels. The other half of ice bowl houses curling and upstairs is a cafe with some hot food as well as coffee, cakes etc.

If you are a good skater you will enjoy it here as it is not that busy. The busiest times are 7pm til 9pm when the ice disco is on which is a Friday night. Other than that it is a good place for a skater with confidence and a not so sure skater as the council provide very good skates in my opinion. I used them for s year and then went to Bauer for my personal skates.
