Gorgeous decor - so many interesting places to sit and enjoy. There is a view of the Thames and the seats are comfy. It is expensive and quite posh - but the service is brilliant and the pints are cold! I would take a date here to impress.
Fantastic Sunday lunch, what a treat, lovely setting beside the river with gorgeous views. Well cooked food served by a great team
The place is lovely by the river and has fast food service. The staff are also very attentive and polite. The drink selection was vast and there was a large area avaliable for more casual 1 to 1 chats. I ate the roast pork option of the menu as did another member of my group and we are in agreement with our opinion. The meal was altogether lovely however individually lacked some elements that could really buck it up to 5 stars for the price you are expected to pay. The ratio of red cabbage to greens was very disproportionate and more greens with stems cut would have complemented the meal better and cut through the fat of the pork. The pork could have done with longer in the oven, this would have crisped up the crackling offered stopping it from being soggy and rendered out into the meat some of the more fatty bits present. The potato's were undercooked and hard. These would have benefited from being preboiled prior to roasting to give a fluffy on the inside, crispy on the out signature of a good roast. Overall with the price considered I would not eat here again unless improvements were made. I may however, despite drink service being a little slow, pop back for a drink due to the wide range of options avaliable.
Visited The Dukes Head in Putney for an early dinner and was looked after by Sona. It was excellent. The service from Sona and the food/drinks were both of a very high standard - will definitely be back! Thank you.
Avoid eating anything other than pub good. The risotto was nothing but a risotto. Ceaser calad had no sauce whatsoever. Such a lovely pub and ambiance ruined by terrible food and waiting staff.
we'd been a couple times again! Great local pub, friendly staff, excellent food, stunning views of the Thames, a great option for a full meal, or drinks with friends ^_^ can sit in, or take away and drink by the river!! this time I had the board special, slow cooked pork ribs, and aah... it was to die for! gorgeous! Well done The Dukes Head, very deserved four to five stars now!! ^_^ can't wait to be there again! x
Shared the trio of roast meats beef, chicken and pork with a friend. The beef was perfectly cooked med rare but it would have been nice to have some steak knives to cut it. Will ask next time. Pork was delicious and chicken was ok. The staff must have been very busy as we didn't see much of them and they forgot to bring us the dessert menu after we asked for it. Overall food was good, service wasn't fully attentive but they were lovely when they were there. Would go again - perhaps at a quieter time!
We had a lovely family get together at The Duke's Head! The pub was a bit quieter on Tue night, however the service was fantastic and the food is really good. The menu had only six mains, but well thought through and we were all really happy with our choices. There were two veggie options and a steak, sausages, fish and burgers. And a fantastic view overlooking the river.
Lovely food and an incredible view. Sunday dinner was delicious and the wine selection broad. The staff were lovely, busy but incredibly dedicated. Only 4 stars because of the price £££££ and with the cost of living Im sure many people will find this pub lunch not equivalent to a fine dining meal that the price denotes. If you choose to go I hope you enjoy this pub as much as I did. Simply splendid!
Popped into this pub for a wedding anniversary lunch and didn't expect quite such a lovely setting inside. The service was really excellent and very accommodating when we asked to relocate to a seat by the window. When it came to the food this is where it all fell down. The food was overpriced for the quality. The burger and the pork were both overdone and absolutely nothing special about them at all. Both served with skinny fries that must have been from a frozen bag. For the price you really should be serving delicious home made chips. Overall value for money was very poor so wouldn't recommend.
