Story

DRY sits in the heart of Manchester’s artistic neighbourhood - the Northern Quarter. Since first opening in 1989, this historic venue has overcome the changes of the years, stood the test of time and still remains one of Manchester’s prominent food and drink establishments.

Whilst DRY was first famed for being the original urban cafe bar and altering the public’s perception of bar culture, forever DRY continues to offer fresh forward thinking ideas; hosting the best new DJs, live performances and music events. With the purchase of a fantastic new pizza oven, the creation of a brand new food menu and a newly refurbishment Music Venue, DRY is set to thrive for many more decades to come.

One of the original northern quarter bars. With a place in Manchester music history. And it's still a good characterful bar today.
Don't let the name fool you. The drink here flows freely and is reasonably priced. There's a good selection, too, and the music is always at a comfortable level for conversation. The staff are attentive and pleasant, and the food is great. They do a mean pulled pork burger, and a good selection of chicken items. Beef is actually my least favourite of the meats I'm willing to eat and I'm pleased that they offer good alternatives here. Top marks all the way for DRY.
One of the original fancy bars still going strong since opening in 1989 trading slightly off its Factory Records heritage. Good selection of beer's ales and lager. Free pizzas .Really need to sort the musical soundtrack out though when we last visited as it was horrific.
Crazy loud, my ears were ringing for three days after being here, and still haven't recovered fully after 5 days. My right ear actually felt semi-deaf for about 2 days which I've never had before from a club. Others we were out with also commented about how loud it was. Other than that, it's fine. Getting served at the bar is fairly quick and the vibe is OK. EDIT: Now just over a week and still ringing, I hope to hell it goes away soon.
Nothing special, nice bar, place to dance but the music could be better. Doors at the toilets don't close. Good location.
Great bar with a late license that's open til late. Always buzzing to some great music and one of the only bars that have barred both Liam Gallagher and Shaun Ryder.
Great bar with lots of seating and space. Great for a few drinks. It's not too expensive either.
Top bar! Bouncers had more than their fair share of things to deal with Friday and Saturday and were not only professional but full of top notch chat!
Staff accused me of stealing cake from the bar. What they had seen me do was take a straw. No apology from the bar man and I had to force an apology from the head chef. I will not be spending a penny here again.
Decent beer and lots of space. And the free pizza when we bought two drinks was freshly made and half decent!
