We spent three weeks in Dromona this summer for our honeymoon and it has been one of the best holidays we have ever had. Dromona is set in a very peaceful location, the grounds are beautiful and very well kept by Mr. and Mrs. Jackson. The accomodation is clean, tidy and very welcoming. It has all mod cons (washing machine, microwave, double oven, TV, DVD player, Wifi, etc) as well as ample parking space, a wide variety of information and discount vouchers from the area. Besides, Mr. and Mrs. Jackson can offer all visitors the benefit of their experience of the flora, fauna and points of interest in the area.

Accommodating bungalow set in lovingly-tended gardens. First impressions are important and Dromona delivers: a tidy, freshly-mown lawn and neat driveway lead the way to a bungalow, picnic area with table and chairs and area to dry washing. Once inside, a tea tray set with cups and saucers to welcome all visitors into a calm and tranquil environment awaits: all new appliances, a bathroom with shower, washing-machine and microwave oven, electric oven and stove, kettle and toaster, television and dvd player and a free and reliable wifi connection. On the side table in the entrance area, there are leaflets for planning family days out with or without children, a voucher booklet, maps of the area and dossiers compiled by Mr. & Mrs. Jackson detailing places of specific beauty in the area, walks for those interested in local fauna and flora, the best beaches to visit, etc. Mr. & Mrs. Jackson have lived for many years in the area and are willing and glad to share their in-depth knowledge of the area with all visitors. No question is too cumbersome; in fact, guests are invited to consult them on walks and places to visit and things to do. A short distance from the A30, it's far enough away so as not to be heard. The nearest town (where all the shops and big supermarkets are) can be reached on foot, if desired, as it's only 1mile 1/4 distance from Dromona. A beautiful holiday destination in a nice, tranquil area of Cornwall where my husband and I have already stayed on 2 occasions.

I have never written a review before but felt compelled to do so by the frankly ridiculous one star review given by 'Jim'. It didn't put us off booking for last week as if someone can't articulate why they feel a one star review is appropriate then it probably says more about the reviewer than the thing they are reviewing...as so it proved. We enjoyed a fantastic week based at Dromona, Brian and Elizabeth were delightful and the accommodation was everything we expected and more. We have stayed in many holiday lets down the years and paid much more for far worse. The location is first class, a very short drive to the A30 gives excellent vehicle access to all points north and south from Camborne, or into Camborne itself for shopping and beyond to the east of the tip of Cornwall. It is however set far enough away from the A30 that you don't get any noise from it. There are walks locally and one of the many personal touches the Jackson's have provided are hand drawn walking maps and guides to local flora and fauna. The accommodation is dated, but for us that just added to the charm of the place. If the one star review is down to that however then in all honesty the reviewer needs to go to Specsavers because it is all there in the images to view before booking. What you want from a holiday let though is cleanliness and for everything to work, it was and it did. The WiFi and TV signal was without doubt the best we have had in all our years coming down to Cornwall and Devon. Often we have found holiday lets to be run by pretentious middle class 'up country incomers' who view customers with almost contempt, Brian and Elizabeth were a breath of fresh air in that regard. Clearly based down there for decades they were friendly, approachable and helpful whilst allowing us the space to get on with our holiday in peace. I would thoroughly recommend Dromona as a comfortable, relaxed and peaceful retreat from which to enjoy a lovely holiday in beautiful Cornwall.

Very peaceful location, beautiful setting. Camborne close by (within walking distance) and the property owners are very kind, friendly and helpful. The perfect destination to relax and to escape daily life, with facilities at a stone's throw..
