A well kempt station let down by a lack of amenities and shelter.nDroitwich Spa has good connections to Worcester, reasonable connections to Kidderminster and Birmingham Snow Hill/ Moor Street, and infrequent connections to Bromsgrove and Birmingham New Street. The last evening Birmingham bound service is fairly early at around 11pm.nThe station is uncovered, but platforms have small shelters. There are ticket vending machines on both platforms. The southbound platform has a ticket office but the toilets and takeaway cafe are often closed.nThe station is well decorated and loved for with flower planters and local artwork :
Train station was tidy and signs were easy to read. Shame the ticket office was closed as you have to ask for the toilet key and when travelling with a child, they can't always wait. Great amount of trains and only 10 minutes or so to Worcester.
Station has not been manned for 8 weeks and counting. When asked whether the station is closed permanently, I'm told it is not. But 8 weeks and counting, I am not convinced. I was FINALLY able to get some info on buying a monthly season ticket online so at least it isn't costing me more money any longer you can only buy 7 day seasons tickets at the machine but this is shameful now
Droitwich Spa is compact but punches above its weight. A lovely heritage trail 1.5 miles takes you around the various points of interest including the Lido, canal and high street. A good number of independent shops on the High St are very worthy of venturing in to as is the small Heritage Museum where you can pick up the free trail leaflet
Little, pleasant rail station. Frequent trains to Birmingham and Hereford.
