I've been coming to the Downham Tandoori for a few years now and I have never had a bad experience. The staff are incredibly friendly and always full of smiles, while the food is authentic, delicious and decently priced. The bar is fully stocked with beer and spirits, and the recently updated wine list has something for everyone. The restaurant was renovated in the autumn of 2017, so the interior is newly decorated with a clean and relaxing feel. They also extended into the shop next door which means getting a table is easier than before, although I still recommend booking in advance on a Friday or Saturday.

We was treated with respect. The FOOD is a GOOD standard. 9pm Saturday night, it was busy (03/03/18). Yes I would like to eat in the future. Looking forward to an invitation.

Awful! Avoid! Early New Year's Eve, busy but not full. Service slow and required constant chasing. An hour plus to get our meals, one completely missed due to lack of attention when we ordered. Half the food was cold. When challenged, the waiter PUT HIS FINGERS IN THE DISHES to check them!! Disgusting. Then spilt rice in the lap of one of our party. Replacement meals were not much better. Made it clear we would not pay for this awful disjointed meal, to be met with blank stares. Will be contacting food hygiene agency to let them know about the poor standards. They appear to have over stretched themselves and cannot properly service the number of tables, some very cramped. Four groups asked to be moved from a table in front of the toilet while we were there. Not going back, advise you check your food carefully.
